Background: This job is an opportunity to help a really good kid excel. The transition from 5th to 6th grade is particularly scary for my 10 turning 11 year old. While he is independent (got to school and home on his own during 4th and 5th grade), he is not very organized and often needs help with his homework. His grades suffered at the end of 5th grade because he did not do his homework. I am a working mom who cannot always be home and give him the guidance he needs for homework and after school tasks. I am also not always available to take him to after school activities. The job: The job is three days a week and includes the following tasks: 1. Arrive on time and be sure Tristan has a snack 2. Supervise organization of homework tasks and chores 3. Provide general homework help. The subjects he needs most help are math and English 4. Ensure he practices his instruments and chores are completed 5. Ensure no video games are played or TV is watched before 6:30 (He gets soooo much of that outside of those hours. Don't worry, he is not deprived) 6. Transport Tristan to Sports practice or music lessons (My care may be available on certain days. Public transportation is also an option I encourage) 7. Play Caveats Additional hours may become available once the school year gets going and Tristan becomes involved in extracurricular activities. I also travel for work and may need additional hours during those times. Holidays and spring break are usually spent out of town so hours are limited during those times. Summer camp schedules are different, so summer time might also offer opportunities for additional hours.Nanny job details
