About this nanny job

We are looking for a morning helper for our 5 year-old son, Dylan! He is starting Kindergarten this August, and we need help getting him to school. Tasks include getting Dylan up, feeding him breakfast, helping him get ready for school, packing him a healthy snack, and dropping him off at school. His kindergarten is less than a ten-minute drive on city streets, and drop off is curb-side (you don’t have to get out of the car). You can use your own car if you want to leave a car seat in it, or drive mine. We are looking for someone who is available Monday - Friday, but there will be some flexibility as we can occasionally take him. This day will vary and won’t be the same day every week. Some days we need you as early as 6:15, but most days not until 7am. School drop off is 8 - 8:30 and you are free after that. The start date for this position can be anytime between now and August 10. There will be totally optional opportunities to pick up Dylan from school occasionally or watch him on the weekends. The ideal candidate is responsible, kind, good with kids, and an excellent driver. Because we need to get to work in the morning, being reliable and on time are important. We have a small dog who is a little crazy, so it helps if you are a dog person. No drugs use or weapons are allowed in our house. A background check and at least two references are required. Dylan’s new school is an Italian immersion program, so bonus points if you speak Italian! A little bit about us: Dylan recently turned 5 and loves sports, puzzles, trains, cars, art projects, and pretty much anything you want to teach him. He is sweet and a little sassy. He has been at the same daycare for the past 4 years, so this will be a big transition for him. He doesn’t have any allergies or dietary restrictions, and is a big fan of carbohydrates. Mom and dad both work in healthcare. We are from California and like to travel, eat and explore SF. We have lived in Potrero Hill for about 8 years. Last but not least, we have a 15 pound dog named Ziggy. He’s a rescue and is shy and protective, so takes a little getting used to. Sometimes he takes to people pretty quickly, and other times it takes awhile. It’s not you, it’s him. Once he warms up, he is affectionate, goofy, and slightly less crazy. Hourly rate is $30-35 depending on experience. This is a part-time position and there are no paid holidays, vacation, or sick time.
