About this nanny job

I'm Claire, house manager for a wonderful, warm, easygoing, yet intentional family living in Dolores Heights and I'm helping them look for an experienced nanny to join their family’s team. Mom is a stay-at-home parent and Dad works primarily out of the house. We're looking for a true partner in caring for the kids, an extension to their family, and someone who works with us day to day. Daughter, 15 months old: home full-time, needs an engaged, energetic and attentive caregiver for naps, meals, playtime, activities, and developmental milestones. Son, 4 years old: in preschool full-time; care is primarily needed for afternoons after preschool and school breaks/holidays. Schedule: -Full-time position, with flexibility built in around preschool hours and family needs -Exact daily schedule to be discussed. Most days will be toddler-focused, others will include both kids before/after preschool -Flexibility for early mornings, evenings, or schedule shifts as family needs evolve -Some evenings and weekends possible (e.g., occasional date nights, weekend outings, or events). Looking for someone who is available at least one evening a week. -Occasional family travel in collaboration with our house manager What We're Looking For: -Someone who is emotionally intelligent, brings genuine warmth, and patience with kiddos of both ages -Comfortable co-parenting tasks alongside Mom (and Dad); this is a collaborative role. This may look like: -Caring for one child while the parent spends focused time with the other -Supporting calm routines during high-energy or long stretches of the day -Meeting Mom somewhere so she can take the little one to a planned class -Experience with toddler care (feeding, naps, developmental play) and preschooler engagement (hands-on activities, crafts, homework-adjacent tasks as he grows, outdoor play) -Communicative, creative, and proactive -Comfortable navigating the neighborhood and city: outings to museums, playgrounds, the zoo, music classes, libraries, age-appropriate activities are encouraged! -Driver's license preferred: we'd love someone able to drive the kids to activities around the city, though public transportation is also fine CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to get certified) -Prior nanny experience with references
