About Us: We are a loving family located in the West San Jose / Cupertino area looking for a high-energy, creative, and highly engaging babysitter for our active and curious 4-year-old daughter. We are looking for someone to help during weekday evenings so mom and dad can catch up on work or have a brief break. What We Are Looking For (Our Ideal Candidate): We are NOT looking for a "passive" sitter who just watches TV or sits on the couch. We want a true Play Companion who genuinely loves interacting with preschoolers! Our daughter is very active and headstrong, so we need someone who is patient, proactive, and knows how to guide her energy into fun, constructive activities. Key Responsibilities: Active Engagement & Play: Actively play with her! This includes reading books, building with blocks/Legos, doing simple sensory crafts, drawing, and playing pretend games. Energy Burn: Guide her through active indoor playtime to help her wind down before bed. Bedtime Routine Support: Help with a light evening snack, brushing teeth, and reading bedtime stories (no heavy cooking or deep cleaning required). Screen-Free Time: Keep screen time to zero during your shift; we highly value human interaction and creative play. Qualifications & Requirements: Proven experience babysitting toddlers or preschoolers (experience in a daycare, preschool, or as a camp counselor is a huge plus!). Students majoring in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development, or Psychology are highly encouraged to apply! Must be energetic, warm, and highly communicative. Non-smoker, CPR/First Aid certified preferred. Must have reliable transportation to the West San Jose area. Clear background check. Schedule & Compensation: Days: Monday. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings - flexible Hours: 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM Pay Rate: Depending on experience and qualifications) Note: We will start with a 1-2 hour paid trial session where parents will be home in another room, just to see how you and our daughter interact.
