Housekeeper / House Manager with Light Afternoon Childcare — Laurel Heights, SF We're a busy family in Laurel Heights looking for a Housekeeper / House Manager to keep our home running smoothly, with some light afternoon childcare for our 3- and 5-year-old mixed in. This is a great fit for someone who's housekeeping-focused first, comfortable being around kids second — not a traditional nanny role. Schedule: Monday–Thursday, ~12:30–5:30pm (20–25 hrs/week guaranteed). Friday is also available if you want more hours. Pay: $32–$40/hour, cash, commensurate with experience. About 50–75% of the role is household work. Examples: - Full family laundry (washing, folding, putting away, sometimes ironing as needed) - Dishes — loading/unloading the dishwasher, washing pots and pans, etc. - Vacuuming and/or Swiffering, wiping down kitchen counters and bathroom sinks - Walkable errands — UPS returns, dropping off/picking up dry cleaning, etc. - Some meal prep, including help with dinner sometimes - Restocking household supplies like toilet paper or detergent — e.g., flag us when something's running low, or we can give you access to our Target/Amazon account to order and then unpack/put away deliveries - Coordinating other help as needed (e.g. letting in and paying someone who comes to sweep the backyard) - Other odds + ends if you want more hours — vacuum the car, clean humidifiers every once in a while, etc. The rest of the role is light childcare support: - Most days, walk to pick up our kids from school and the bus stop (both a short, easy walk — no car needed) around 3–4pm, bring them home, and give them a snack - Some days they'll stay late or we'll handle pickup ourselves; on those days we'd love you to continue with household work instead - A bit of screen-free play (home or at playground) before we wrap up work around 5pm and can take the kids Nice-to-haves if you want more hours, but not required: - Occasional full-day availability when school is closed - Occasional Saturday night babysitting What we're looking for: - Comfortable and safe around young kids; childcare experience and CPR/First Aid certification are a plus - Strong household organization skills, self-motivated, comfortable working independently - Non-smoker - Excellent references We're flexible on adding more hours and tasks for the right person — just let us know what you're comfortable with!
