About this nanny job

We're looking for a dependable, proactive, and caring nanny/family assistant to become an important part of our family's weekly routine. This role is a combination of after-school childcare and helping keep our household running smoothly. We're a busy family with two parents who work remotely from home, two wonderful kids (8 and 6), and one small, friendly dog. Our ideal candidate is organized, trustworthy, enjoys working with school-aged children, and is happy pitching in wherever needed. Schedule: * Monday-Thursday, 3:00-5:30 p.m. (some flexibility appreciated) * 10 guaranteed paid hours per week during regular scheduled weeks * No work on federal holidays, school holidays or scheduled school breaks * Same general schedule during the summer * Additional paid hours are frequently available for babysitting but are completely optional We're hoping to find someone who can stay with our family for at least the school year. Responsibilities: * Childcare * Pick up our children from school (about 10 minutes from home) * Drive them to activities * Prepare snacks * Supervise homework * Encourage active play and very minimal screen time * Occasionally prepare dinner and provide evening care if working optional babysitting hours Family Assistant: In addition to childcare, you'll help keep our household running smoothly. Typical responsibilities include: * Grocery shopping from a provided list * Picking up online orders and handling returns * Running local errands (dry cleaning, post office, pharmacy, etc.) * Light meal prep * Folding and putting away laundry * Loading/unloading the dishwasher * Tidying and organizing common areas and kids' spaces * Helping prepare for the next school day * Occasional gift shopping, wrapping, donation drop-offs, and small organization projects This is not a housekeeping position. We are looking for help maintaining an organized home, not deep cleaning (e.g., no bathrooms, mopping, heavy scrubbing, or heavy yard work). Qualifications * Previous nanny, childcare, or family assistant experience * CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain certification) * Excellent references * Authorized to work in the U.S. * Non-smoker * Comfortable with dogs * Strong communication and organizational skills Non-Negotiables: * Able to pass a background check * Valid driver's license * Clean driving record * Reliable personal vehicle * Willing to keep booster seats in your vehicle * Dependable, punctual, and reliable
