We're a warm, loving family in Potrero Hill looking for an exceptional Afternoon Family Assistant to become an important part of our family's week. Our kids are 11 and 13 and are independent, funny, creative, and involved in sports, music, theater, and school activities. We aren't looking for someone to raise our children—we're looking for someone who can help the afternoons and evenings a little easier. Our days have a pretty consistent rhythm. School, activities, homework, dinner...and, like most families, the occasional last-minute change or forgotten permission slip! We're looking for someone who enjoys helping things stay organized and keeping the trains running on time. One parent runs a business from home with occasional travel outside the Bay Area, while the other works downtown most workdays. Business hours can be busy (which is why we need you!), but we’ll be available to communicate, support, and guide your day-to-day when needed. Ideal role for someone who: • Loves working with older kids and preteens • Is fun, energetic, and has a great sense of humor • Can roll with changing schedules and the occasional surprise • Is dependable, proactive, and naturally organized without being rigid • Enjoys creating order while understanding family life is wonderfully imperfect • Has excellent judgment and communicates well • Has a clean driving record • Is looking for a long-term relationship with our family Must like dogs (a 14-yo welsh terrier), bunnies and geckos ;-) If this sounds like you, we'd love to meet you!
