After-School Care and Homework Help for Two Second Graders We are looking for a reliable and engaging after-school caregiver for our two children, who will both be entering second grade. Weekly schedule Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: 3:00–6:00 p.m. Tuesday: 2:00–6:00 p.m. 16 guaranteed hours per week Responsibilities include picking the children up from school, driving them home, preparing a snack and helping them complete their afternoon routine. The children are expected to shower and change independently after arriving home. The caregiver will provide reminders and age-appropriate supervision while respecting their privacy. The afternoon will also include: Assigned homework Reading practice Spelling, writing or math practice based on what they are learning at school Breaks and age-appropriate play Preparing or reheating a simple dinner Dinner at approximately 5:30 p.m. Organizing backpacks and school materials for the following day We are not looking for a formal academic tutor. We want someone patient and capable of reinforcing second-grade skills, helping the children stay focused and building good homework habits. Applicants must have: Experience with elementary-age children A valid driver’s license A safe driving record A reliable and insured vehicle Consistent availability for school pickup At least two recent childcare references Willingness to complete a background check CPR and first-aid certification and experience in education, tutoring, child development or after-school care are strongly preferred. Pay: $30 per hour Start date: 8/24/2026 Commitment: Availability throughout the school year is preferred
