About this nanny job

We are a warm family on the Upper West Side/Columbus Circle area seeking a calm, experienced, and reliable part-time nanny for our baby boy, who will be approximately one month old when the position begins. **Start date:** August 24, 2026 **Schedule:** Approximately four weekday mornings per week, four hours per shift, for 16 guaranteed hours per week. Exact days and times can be discussed. **Rate:** $25-30 (depending on experience/interview) The nanny’s primary responsibility will be attentive newborn care, including: * Feeding expressed breast milk and formula * Preparing and warming bottles, paced bottle-feeding, and burping * Diapering * Soothing and following the baby’s nap routine * Following current safe-sleep practices * Keeping a simple record of feeds, diapers, and naps * Gentle, age-appropriate interaction and tummy time * Stroller walks when appropriate * Washing bottles and light tidying related to the baby * Occasional baby laundry, if needed We are looking for someone who: * Has recent, hands-on experience caring for newborns, preferably babies under three months old * Is patient, calm, nurturing, punctual, and dependable * Is knowledgeable about newborn feeding, soothing, diapering, and safe sleep * Has current infant CPR and first-aid certification, or is willing to obtain it * Can provide at least two recent childcare references * Is a non-smoker * Communicates clearly and is comfortable following the parents’ preferred routines * Is willing to complete a background check No driving or general housekeeping is required.
