About this nanny job

We’re looking for a warm, playful, and dependable part-time sitter/play companion for our 3-year-old daughter for approximately 2–3 hours in the afternoons on weekdays in the Allen/Plano area. Our daughter is bright, very verbal and communicative, energetic, curious, imaginative, and loves interaction. She thrives with someone who genuinely enjoys getting down on the floor and playing with her—not simply supervising her. Afternoons might include: * Pretend and imaginative play * Reading books and storytelling * Arts and crafts, Play-Doh, puzzles, and simple preschool activities * Music, dancing, and movement * Sensory play * Outdoor play, walks, or playground time * Lots of conversation, silliness, and fun! This is primarily a child-focused position. We are not looking for housekeeping or extensive household help. We want these few hours to be about giving our daughter someone’s full attention for meaningful, active, screen-free play and companionship. A college or graduate student would be wonderful, particularly someone studying early childhood education, education, psychology, speech/language, occupational therapy, nursing, child development, or a related field—although your personality and connection with our daughter matter much more to us than your major. We’re hoping for someone who is: * Warm, patient, gentle, and emotionally responsive * Genuinely enthusiastic about playing with young children * Comfortable with an energetic and sensory-seeking preschooler * Creative and able to initiate activities rather than simply supervise * Reliable and consistent * Experienced with toddlers/preschool-aged children * A non-smoker * Able to provide references * Able to pass a background check * Has reliable transportation Rate: Approximately $20–$23/hour, depending on experience and qualifications. We’re hoping to find someone who can develop a genuine, happy relationship with our daughter and ideally stay with our family consistently—not just someone to occasionally babysit. If you’re the kind of person who actually enjoys spending an afternoon making Play-Doh creations, reading the same favorite book twice, having very serious conversations with a 3-year-old, dancing around the living room, and heading outside to burn off some toddler energy, we’d love to hear from you. 😊
