I just relocated from San Francisco where I lived for 10 years and would love to meet new families whom I can get to know and be available for on an ongoing basis. I work as a photographer and visual artist and supplement my income as a part time childcare provider. Children have always been around in my life. Growing up in Santa Barbara, I was the eldest of my parent’s friend’s children so, naturally, I began babysitting at an early age. In high school I was involved with dance programs for all ages and worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor through my early college years. In the past decade I have been babysitting and nannying for many families in San Francisco whom I met both through UrbanSitter and word of mouth recommendations in various parent circles. I have much experience working with infants, toddlers, and on up in age. I was the primary babysitter and, at times, pt-ft nanny for two families over the past 8 years. I grew close with them and saw both families through two pregnancies each and was a constant throughout the growing and learning of each of their children (one family with four kids and the other with three). I also spent one year working as a full-time nanny for a young boy beginning at 11mo through 26mo. In addition to all that, I have worked with many other families and single parents as a fill-in/part-time/short-term/ longer-term/one-off care taker for many ages. As I began to work with younger children regularly in SF, I sought to expand my knowlege and understanding of development in children 0-5yrs old by attended seminars focused on sleep training, nutrition, behavior, and productive disciplin methods, as well as my own research. They call me The Baby Whisperer. At one point, I considered training as a doula, but decided to remain focused on my art. Current on all vaccinations CA driver's license and clean driving record. I drive a truck these days so I am unable to use my car to transport children. 4hr minimum per booking Short notice cancellation fee: 50% of booking if cancelled within 72hrs of start time; 100% of booking if cancelled within 48hrs of start time

My daughter is very temperamental and loved Brooke, she was an absolute gem. Super flexible and fun to work with, we feel so lucky we met her!

Hello, My name is Silvia. I’m 30 years old and recently moved back to Santa Barbara after completing my graduate program in Elementary Education at San Francisco State University. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development with a minor in Psychology, and I’m truly passionate about working with children. I am CPR and First Aid certified, and I have several years of hands-on experience caring for children of various ages. I’ve worked in daycare settings during the summers and have extensive experience babysitting, which has helped me develop patience, creativity, and strong communication skills. In my free time, I enjoy drawing, painting, playing soccer, reading, and playing the guitar—activities I love to share with kids to keep them engaged, creative, and active. I would love the opportunity to support your family and provide a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for your children!

Silvia was wonderful with our 2 year old daughter! She was punctual, professional, and our daughter really enjoyed playing with her. She was even able to get our nap-refusing toddler successfully down for a nap. Will definitely be hiring her again!

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
