We are seeking an experienced caregiver to provide on-call, overnight care in Noe Valley for our 2 year old daughter during the birth of our second child in March (due date March 12, but see on-call dates below). Timing: The caregiver must be on call to begin care from February 23 to March 12 (note: if labor begins March 12, care could be required through March 17). We expect to be in the hospital for 4-5 days. Expectations: Our daughter attends daycare Monday-Friday (M-Th is 8-5 pm, and M-F is 8-3:30 pm). Outside of daycare hours, caretaker must be available to begin 24-hour care within 60 minutes of a call. During daycare hours, caretaker must be available to be at daycare pickup in Noe Valley at 4:45pm on the same day if Monday-Thursday, or 3:15pm if Friday. Once care starts, the maximum number of days is 5 days. Note that the care period could be less than 5 days depending on hospital stay. Responsibilities once care period begins: pickup and dropoff from daycare (6 blocks walking distance from house); prepare & feed dinner; bedtime; listen to baby monitor overnight and stay in home; prepare & feed breakfast; prepare & pack lunch; playing with and caring for toddler during weekends (if care period includes weekends); maintain cleanliness of house by doing dishes used, cleaning lunchbox, and tidying up toys/books used during care period. Note: time during daycare is not active/paid. Pay: $2,000 fixed retainer for on-call availability during period (paid in addition to hours worked) + competitive hourly rate + flat overnight fee. Guaranteed minimum for this overall engagement is at least $3,000 including the retainer.Babysitting job details
