About this babysitting job

ABOUT OUR FAMILY We are first-time parents and full-time software engineers working hybrid schedules. We live in a two-story home right near downtown Sunnyvale. We mostly both work from home but we have dedicated office spaces upstairs so we can stay separate from you and the baby. We generally share lunch with the baby every day (baby-led weaning), but we can be flexible based on what you or the baby need that day. ABOUT OUR SON, MAX Max is 8 months old and currently on the go 24/7. He is an incredibly fast crawler, constantly pulling himself up on furniture, and is eager to explore every corner of the house. We’ve baby-proofed the major things, but because he's so active and loves stretching his boundaries, he needs someone very attentive to keep him safe (or hang out with him in his large playpen when you need to step away for a minute). He also absolutely loves being outside and playing with water. Food-wise, he's mostly on formula, but we are starting to introduce solids. We usually try to eat lunch with him when we're working from home, but we'd love some help with his basic meal prep and light cleanup afterward. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are looking to build a relationship with a reliable, long-term caregiver who can help us with backup care 1–2 days a week (for when our primary care falls through) as well as occasional evening or weekend date nights. Our ideal candidate is: Warm and nurturing: Someone who genuinely loves the baby stage and isn’t afraid to give him a big reassurance hug when he inevitably bumps himself practicing his new physical milestones. Proactive and energetic: Someone who will actively help him explore, play, and work on his gross motor skills—like setting up simple pillow obstacle courses on the rug. An outdoor lover: We prefer a nanny who isn't cooped up in the house all day and enjoys getting fresh air, whether that's taking Max for walks around the neighborhood, visiting the Sunnyvale Public Library's play area, or hitting local parks like Murphy Park on nice days. WFH-comfortable: Someone who is totally fine with parents popping in and out of the kitchen during breaks. Flexible: Willing to occasionally pick up an extra weekend or evening shift when needed.
