Seeking a dedicated and proactive part-time nanny to join our household in Old Irving Park. We are a busy family with two parents who work full-time outside the home and two school-aged children, ages 7 and 2. We are looking for someone who can integrate into our family for the long-term and values open communication, reliability, and collaboration. Responsible for childcare in the afternoons/early evenings Tuesday through Thursday, including: - School Pick-Up & Transportation: Picking up children from school in the West Loop and safely transporting them to after-school activities and/or back home using your personal vehicle (car seats provided and mileage reimbursed). - Engagement & Play: Actively engaging with both children in developmentally appropriate play, creative activities, and outdoor adventures. - Assisting with After School Activities: Bringing children to after school activities and waiting on-site for their completion, sometimes engaging with one child while the other is in class. - Meal Preparation & Feeding: Preparing simple yet nutritious snacks and dinners for the children and ensuring they are fed (includes navigating food allergies). - Bedtime Routine Support: Assisting with the initial stages of the children's bedtime routine as necessary before parents arrive home. - Light Cleaning: Ensure that kitchen and common areas stay clean following the evening routine. - Safety & Well-being: Ensuring the children's safety and well-being at all times. Qualifications - Verifiable experience caring for young children. - Valid U.S. Driver's License, a safe driving record (no marks), and a reliable, insured personal vehicle for transporting children. - CPR and First Aid certified. - Non-smoker. - Up-to-date on Tdap, MMR, Flu, and COVID vaccines. Willingness to maintain annual boosters for safety of both the children and immunocompromised family members. - Excellent communication skills and a proactive, engaging demeanor. Dependable and punctual. - Willing to discuss additional hours, including occasional overnight stays and weekends, as needed. Compensation and Benefits - Hours: 12 hours/week. Tues, Wed, Thurs from 3-7 PM CT (3PM pickup at Bennett Day School, West Loop). - Growth: Opportunity for additional babysitting, weekend, and overnight care as needed. Overtime rates apply for hours exceeding 40 per week. - Mileage: Reimbursement for mileage at the current IRS rate for all work-related driving in your personal vehicle.
