About this nanny job

We’re looking for a wonderful mother’s helper to become a trusted and consistent part of our family’s routine. We have three children, ages 10, 7 and 4, and for us, finding the right person and personality fit matters more than anything. We’re hoping to find someone warm, energetic, dependable and experienced with children who genuinely enjoys spending time with them. Someone who will engage with them, talk to them, take them to the park, play a game, read together and make an ordinary afternoon enjoyable. We are a screen-free household during this time, so we’re looking for someone who is comfortable embracing that and respects our family’s routines, boundaries and approach to raising our children. A typical afternoon might include picking the kids up from school around 3:45, walking or driving them to an activity, taking them to the park, helping our oldest get organised and started with homework, playing with our youngest, preparing snacks, or getting dinner started according to our family’s dietary preferences. If you’re a great cook, that’s a huge plus. If you enjoy cooking and are eager to learn, we’d love that too. We’re also looking for someone who naturally sees themselves as an extra pair of hands. We really value initiative and someone who can look around and see what would make the afternoon run more smoothly. That might mean putting away dishes, cleaning up after the kids, getting food started or helping with a small household errand. We want someone who is happy to pitch in rather than feeling that every task needs to be specifically assigned. Most importantly, we want to build a relationship based on trust and mutual respect. We want you to get to know our children and us, and we also want this to be a role you genuinely enjoy. We’re looking for someone responsible and mature who communicates well, follows through on commitments and can become a positive, trusted presence in our children’s lives. Most school and activities are in the neighbourhood, so a car is a plus rather than a requirement. We’re thinking 3-4 afternoons per week, initially perhaps 1–2 hours at a time while we get to know each other. If it’s a great fit, we’d love to have the same person available for additional or occasional hours over time. If you love kids, are proactive by nature, enjoy being part of a busy family and are looking for a relationship you can build over time, we’d love to hear from you.
