Years ago, my first profile picture on this site was criticized by a potential family for being too strange. I picked one way stranger in response (me in a unicorn onesie) until the 2024 powers that be on this site recently called it inappropriate. So, now I’ve found one off the charts strange with my head half shaved in the middle of a home COVID haircut ;-). Children are SO important to me—yes that means physical safety, but for me it also involves emotional safety. I want deeply for children and young people to love themselves and find their voices as they grow, but to do that they need to see adults who appreciate and take joy in their own uniqueness. That, more than any resume point, is what I offer to kids and families with fierce commitment. I have worked with children and young people in a variety of settings for thirty years. In my early days there was the usual teenage babysitting. I have also worked for summer camps and non-profits--designing, leading, and overseeing children's activities and programs. Next, I taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade English for the last thirteen years in both Southern California and the Bay Area, followed by ten years of nannying for children of all ages. Finally, I have started to move very organically into parental coaching, upon request of families I care/have cared for. I have special insight into neurodivergent kids and school engagement struggles. I am certified in CPR, First Aid, AED, have taken expressive arts therapy training, and have had multiple experiences working with autistic young people, in addition to being autistic myself. I am happy to help older children with their English homework and do Elmo's voice for the younger children in the fort we just built :) I am tidy, punctual, and you will not find me on my phone or devices while my attention should be on your child. I love and appreciate the curiosity, creativity, kindness, and honesty of all children, and I look forward to being part of the village that helps care for yours. Thanks, Water pronouns: he/him newstoriescalling.com (for the time being, legally still: Chelsea Delaney)

I have been working with children in various capacities for over 10 years. For 2 years, I worked as an actor on a traveling theatre group that performs shows on bullying prevention and other social issues at schools throughout the greater Seattle area, and then spent 2 years as the Education and Outreach Program Coordinator for that same theatre company. I now work as an Education Programs Specialist at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, where I develop museum programming for students and teachers. In terms of childcare, I have worked with dozens of families, ages ranging from 11 weeks to 13 years old, and I am comfortable and experienced working with all ages and up to three children at a time (or more if necessary). I have learned so much from little ones over the past years and being able to play a role in their growth and development is a great joy. I'm passionate about social-emotional learning and creating opportunities to grow in respect and kindness. I love cooking, crafts, and books!

Hello! My name is Alexis, and I provide childcare and tutoring services. I grew up and currently live in Anaheim. I just finished my undergrad at Azusa Pacific University, where I studied finance and was a member of the women’s soccer team. Having lived in Southern California my whole life, I am very familiar with the area and enjoy being active, responsible, and engaged in my community. I have over 7 years of childcare experience, starting at age 15, and I genuinely love working with children. My background includes: • Caring for cousins, nieces, and nephews from a young age—helping with cooking, reading, swimming, and daily activities. • Babysitting for multiple families through UrbanSitter. • Tutoring students from elementary through high school in subjects such as reading, science, and math (2nd grade, 3rd grade, and freshman level). I strive to bring energy, responsibility, and respect to every family I work with. I am also CPR and AED certified, ensuring safety is always a priority. In addition to childcare, I am comfortable working with pets—whether your family has cats, dogs, or both. I would be happy to bring my experience and enthusiasm to support your family’s needs!

Hi there! I currently run my own PR and Marketing operation from home. My schedule is flexible and I'm looking for some side work. I spent over 10 years teaching developmental gymnastics for children between 4 months-12 years old. I also led camps for elementary age children and teenagers. I've coached cheerleading and dance and I used to babysit a lot of my students while living in Southern California. I'm all about learning and having fun. Engaging with your child is important to me and it's all I've ever known. My mom is a pre-k teacher and my brother is a junior high teacher. So, it runs in our blood. = ) My background with children extends overseas where I've volunteered in orphanages in South Africa, Peru and Mexico. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi! My name is Dominique, but I go by Doma. I've been around babies and children my whole life. I grew up with my mom running her own home day care and started babysitting at 15 years old for family friends. I'm the second oldest of six children with my two youngest siblings being 9 and 11 years old, so I’m comfortable with watching multiples, doing housework and managing the occasional (or day to day) chaos. I am flexible, empathetic, and overall just really value genuine connection with those I share space with. I’ve found it important for me to be able to really partner with parents and openly communicate about how I can best care for their child and how we can support each other in the process. I look forward to hopefully doing that with you!
