I am in my early thirties and have nearly twenty years of experience with childcare, from infant through pre-teen ages. I've cared for 1-4 children at a time. Though I don't have kids of my own, it has been the biggest pleasure of my life to watch my two young nieces grow up (3 yo and 1 yo), which is a main reason I'm looking to incorporate childcare into my regular schedules. In addition to playing with and looking after the kids, I have experience in preparing food and meals, helping with household chores like laundry and dishes, and assisting with homework. I have my own car and am comfortable driving kids to/from activities. Hello! My name is Mari and I am graduating from American University this May. I am 22 years old and am originally from York, PA but live full-time in D.C. I currently work for an environmental non-profit as an intern, and am looking for summer opportunities with families here in the DMV. I have an extensive history of service-oriented positions. I formally used a nannying app called QuadJobs in which I booked and have working relationships with multiple families (unfortunately the app has since shut down). I am the oldest sister in my household as well as having an older brother, so I am aware of sibling relationships and responsibility. I am diligent and committed, having worked for Starbucks for 3 years while being a full-time student with multiple other jobs and commitments. I also am an equestrian-- I have extensive history with horses and other animals, making me very capable of caring for any sort of family pet! I have my own car here, meaning I am flexible with travel as well as quick with transportation needs.
