Hi there! My name is Mar, I am a Chicago native, and after living in NYC the past eight years, I recently relocated back to Chicago! I received my BA in Screen Studies with minors in Screenwriting and Theater from Eugene Lang College at The New School in New York. I am currently working towards my Teaching Certificate with the goal of working with elementary-level children as an Arts Teacher. I hold extensive experience working with children of all ages, and take such joy in doing so. Aside from my daytime/evening nanny care in New York, I have spent time in the Western suburbs of Paris as a live-in au pair for 3 children (ages 7-11), a children's theater assistant director in Chicago suburbs, kindergarten TA, working as an art teacher in the Bronx (grades K-4), and most recently, as a substitute teacher in Queens. I spend a majority of my time practicing and teaching art, with paper making, bookbinding and creative writing at the forefront -- I try and bring these mediums into play with children, as I've found kinesthetic learning and creation is the best way to get in touch with oneself and one's emotional vocabulary at a young age.
