Hi families, I’m Shyann! I’m a graduate from UC Davis with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, and having now completed my studies, am ready to wade into this next chapter of my life. My academic journey deepened my understanding of how children learn and develop, something I find incredibly rewarding to be a part of. I’m grateful to have gotten the opportunity to apply my knowledge and extend my experience with some great families. I come from a large immigrant family with my grandparents alone having over 5 children (my mom’s siblings), so you can just imagine the number of children born each generation since! Me being “older” meant I was the go-to babysitter for my sibling, cousins, nephews, etc., which made transitioning to paid childcare a natural step once I could legally work. Now with over six years of professional experience under my belt, I can say that I’ve had the pleasure of creating strong bonds with a number of wonderful and diverse families. I have wide-ranging experience caring for children ages 0-12 and am CPR & First Aid certified. I am also up to date on my flu and COVID vaccinations and take precautions in public.
