Hi I'm Machandel (pronounced Ma-han-del). I've worked in childcare with kids of all ages, (two yr old room, four yr old room and K-5) but spent the most time being the lead teacher for the school-aged kids classroom at a daycare center (after school and all day during the summers). I also hold a certificate for completing a 45-hour childcare development course called "Early care, Education and family support”, and have been CPR certified in the past. More recently, I’ve extensively studied nervous system regulation and somatic practices which has given me gentle tools to help children stay calm, secure and feel emotionally supported. Im a huge animal lover and have a cat at home, but I grew up with dogs so I’m very comfortable interacting and caring for them as well. I love being outdoors, going on walks, playing board games and being creative. I’m looking for a consistent role (around 25+ hours/week) with 1-2 kids. I’m happy to help with homework, fix simple meals, plan art projects, run errands, care for pets, and tidy up after the kids. For eight years, I have had the privilege of assisting families as a nanny for children from infancy through adolescence. I was previously with a family of 6 children, all under age 6, which included a set of twins on the autism spectrum.
