Hi, I’m Melanie. I am a dedicated childcare professional and educator with a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Development and a state-issued teaching permit. My background is rooted in early childhood education, and I have spent years in various settings, from running my own preschool classroom to working in specialized schools with children who have autism and other disabilities. Because of my additional training in school counseling, I am especially focused on emotional regulation and helping children feel secure and heard, no matter their age or needs. I know how stressful it can be to find someone you truly trust with your children, which is why I prioritize clear communication and consistency. I am proud to have built a reputation here on the app with positive reviews and the opportunity to work with nine repeat families. I also have extensive experience supporting families long-term, including a wonderful five-year placement with one family before they moved out of state, and I take pride in building those lasting, reliable relationships. I am CPR and First Aid certified, have a clean background, and have a current negative TB test. My goal is to provide a safe, nurturing, and fun environment so you can feel completely at ease whenever you are away. I would love to connect, and talk more to answer questions.

“Carolina was great with our two boys ages 8 and 3 years old. We loved her so much we worked together for 5 months while she lived in Los Angeles. We definitely would have continued with her if she was still in LA. She was always on time. Kind, caring, respectful and loving. Helped our little one with potty training, cooked meals and snacks, helped tidy up around the house when children were sleeping, helped with homework, school pick up, great with playtime and helping kids use their imagination and she was also flexible with occasional Date nights. Carolina is one of the best and we are very thankful to have met her. ”

“Thanks to Colin, my daughter and I truly had a fantastic memory during my business trip to La Jolla where he was taking care of my daughter while I was at a conference. Colin is kind, fun, patient and was genuinely engaged with my six year old daughter Emilia. He came fully prepared and worked out an entire program for her. He brought a handmade diary to record daily activities together and a tool kit with toys and books for entertainment. Colin truly stands out as someone reliable, punctual and approachable. He communicated needs and expectations clearly upfront and was very thoughtful about making this an enjoyable experience for my daughter. She truly enjoyed spending time with Colin and I trusted him completely, especially coming from out of town. I would not hesitate to recommend him to any family looking for a dependable and caring sitter, whether at home or while traveling.”

"When we hired Amani, we felt like we hit the jackpot. We were very lucky to find her on UrbanSitter at the beginning of school year. She was picking up kids from school, taking them to afternoon activities, helping them with assignments. She prepped food for them, helped organize their closets and keep their spaces neat and orderly. We would hire her again in a heartbeat."
