Hi, my name is Livia, I’m currently a baby-sitter for 2 kids, and I love them. I love being a babysitter and have been watching newborns, infants, and toddlers since I was 18 years old. My responsibilities have included -driving to/from school -crafts, tutoring - feeding - bathing - cleaning after the kids - bedtime

“Livia was lovely! She has a calming energy and took great care of our little one, even persevering through some initial separation anxiety. She arrived a little late due to unforeseen traffic, but was professional and thoughtful in communicating with us to let us know. Would definitely hire her again. Thanks, Livia.”

Hi, I’m Melissa and I keep my calendar up to date! Parents have told me they’ve had a lot of sitters they’ve booked on UrbanSitter cancel or not show up. I find that shocking! You can count on me. 💗 Parents of type 1 diabetics—I got you. I can carb count, monitor CGM, site changes, treat highs & lows, the whole thing. I’ve been type 1 since age 8 and I use a Tandem pump with Dexcom. I've been sitting through this site since Nov 2013, usually ~30 hours per week. I've seen it all! My style with kids depends on the type of people they are (kids’ personalities vary just like adults’ do) and what the parents advise and prefer. I'm flexible! I love to travel to parks, I have a lot of great crafts up my sleeve, I know endless children's songs, I'll do as much physically active play as my body can take! I want the kids to have a good time and remember their experience with me fondly, while also keeping everyone safe & sound. I love hanging out with little folks. I love to hear what they think and see life through their eyes. Kids have unique perspectives. They are learning so much so quickly and from everywhere they can, so it's incredibly important to be mindful of that as a caretaker, modeling patience, good humor, seriousness when it's important to be serious, and attentiveness to the emotional needs of others. Kids can be funny, cute, curious, sweet, accidentally profound, and often super-bossy. They're exhausting in the best possible way. I also just adore infants and toddlers and I could hold them and play with them all day! I have been known to quickly figure out how to accommodate even the most challenging babies. I aim to be flexible! It’s OK if you need to cancel, I will not be upset or expect payment. It's perfectly OK to come home early, I will not expect payment for the full booking time. I will always stay longer if you need me to as well, so long as it doesn't interfere with another booking. I understand life is unpredictable and I hope I can make life easier for parents. Just keep me in the loop and I'll do the same.

$24 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 3 families in Moraga, CA

Hello! My name is Rakita I have over 25 years of babysitting and nannying experience with ages newborn to 12 yrs. I love to have fun, play games, read and provide excellent care to my families. I love to find out what my children’s interests are and allow them to lead in their play. For the little kiddos - playdoe, music, coloring and/or making toy/lego art. A favorite of mine is making oooblek which is a wonderful goo that toddlers to 3rd graders love to make. I also love to incorporate fun meal prep activities based on a child’s food preference and allergies. So if your child would like, we can make ants on a log (celery, your preferred butter if not peanut and raisins) or we make our own S’morse minus the camp fire☺️ or they help me make cookies and we decorate them, we can also decorate graham crackers if you prefer we don’t use the oven. Looking forward to meeting you! Thank you, Rakita

“This was our first time leaving our 18m old twins with someone other than a close friend or family member. We had a family wedding to attend and wanted to feel assured that the girls would be well cared for so we could relax and enjoy ourselves. Rakita's confidence, warmth, and professionalism made me feel confident the girls would handle the experience well. She came equipped with new books and toys to help keep them engaged and got right down to play and interact with them while we finished getting ready. She sent wonderful updates and photos through the evening. Best of all she was gentle and loving getting them both down to sleep for the night. I would highly recommend Rakita. She is open and easy with her love, prompt in responses, and reliable. We were thrilled to have such a wonderful caretaker for our first hiring experience. ”

"When we hired Amani, we felt like we hit the jackpot. We were very lucky to find her on UrbanSitter at the beginning of school year. She was picking up kids from school, taking them to afternoon activities, helping them with assignments. She prepped food for them, helped organize their closets and keep their spaces neat and orderly. We would hire her again in a heartbeat."
