I am a mother of 3 boys; my oldest is now 18 years old and my youngest are twin 13 year old boys. To say that I have experience with children would be an extreme understatement. I am trying to return to the general workforce but since I primarily have experience in the medical field with extensive medical experience I was hoping that childcare would be a good entryway. I am very responsible and I come with a unique ability to communicate with children in a manner that they are comfortable with (non-condescending). I am also a returning English Literature student hoping to eventually become a English Literature Professor at the University level.

Hello! My name is Emily, I'm 19 years old and I'm from México. I am currently in my third semester of college where I am studying psychology. I like reading, cycling, listening to music, and spending time with my family. I consider myself an introverted and very responsible person. I also consider that my qualities are being a loving, nurturing, patient and reliable person. Since I became an aunt I discovered how much I like children, I really enjoy spending time with them. I have the most experience with babies from 0 to 1 years old because I have been taking care of my nephew since then, I know how to feed them, put them to sleep, change diapers and play with them. I don't have much experience with older children, but I have many cousins ​​whom I have taken care of. I really like playing with them because I like how they explore and their way of seeing the world. I am very creative so I know how to distract children while enhancing their learning. I have had a passion for taking care of children since my family adopted my four nieces and nephews (ages 2-12) when I was a freshman in high school. During my four years in high school, I spent a few hours per week being responsible for their care without parental oversight. I have also taken care of them for 2-week periods while my parents were out of town six times since high school. As such, I know how to take care of multiple children at once while also managing household tasks. I recently worked at Behavioral Health 360 in the role of behavior interventionist, providing one-on-one ABA therapy for children with autism. This role taught me how to handle various kinds of problem behaviors in a calm, effective and science-backed manner. I also learned how to have endless patience and empathy for any child. Additionally, my sister recently had a baby, and I have been nannying for her for the past year. I feel comfortable with children of any age. I am also happy to take care of pets in addition to children; I have had cats and dogs since I was a child and have frequently pet sat for family friends. I also have a pet snake named Penelope, so I am comfortable with reptiles. Finally, I am a Davis native but have a bachelor's degree from UC Santa Barbara after double majoring in Sociology and Philosophy. I am an intermediate level Spanish speaker and have experience helping kids with homework.
