I’ll be happy to answer any of your questions. My life was full of small stories, as I was born with a “setting” in my mind, that I would love to understand what life is about in general. And I learned what is most important and why. One of the most important things (better to say values) is a good supportive atmosphere in a family, which I do with all my effort trying to keep in my family and will be putting not less effort to keep it in yours. I worked in IT for 10 years, before my youngest daughter was born. She is 17 now, finishing high school. Last 15 years (before we moved to California from Chicago) I was working in 2 derections. I was organizing art, music events and was working on a concept of “kid’s club” - informal studying, where kids would be able to see where is their natural potential, their inner strengths are. I’ll be happy to work with your kids and do my best to help them to develop what they can do the best, while to keep developing other strengths. Looking forward to hear from you. I was born in Belous (we speak Russian at home). My family immigrated to US in 1989. I was at the age of my youngest daughter

“Yulia has been amazing with my 2-year-old! She's deeply caring and brings the best energy to every visit. What I appreciated most is how independent and proactive she is - she respects our wishes as parents but never needs detailed instructions. When my son wasn't feeling well, she was incredibly patient and accommodating, and once he recovered, she had him out on long walks and bike rides. Highly recommend!”

Booked by 310 families in San Francisco, CA

Hi, I’m Melissa and I keep my calendar up to date! Parents have told me they’ve had a lot of sitters they’ve booked on UrbanSitter cancel or not show up. I find that shocking! You can count on me. 💗 Parents of type 1 diabetics—I got you. I can carb count, monitor CGM, site changes, treat highs & lows, the whole thing. I’ve been type 1 since age 8 and I use a Tandem pump with Dexcom. I've been sitting through this site since Nov 2013, usually ~30 hours per week. I've seen it all! My style with kids depends on the type of people they are (kids’ personalities vary just like adults’ do) and what the parents advise and prefer. I'm flexible! I love to travel to parks, I have a lot of great crafts up my sleeve, I know endless children's songs, I'll do as much physically active play as my body can take! I want the kids to have a good time and remember their experience with me fondly, while also keeping everyone safe & sound. I love hanging out with little folks. I love to hear what they think and see life through their eyes. Kids have unique perspectives. They are learning so much so quickly and from everywhere they can, so it's incredibly important to be mindful of that as a caretaker, modeling patience, good humor, seriousness when it's important to be serious, and attentiveness to the emotional needs of others. Kids can be funny, cute, curious, sweet, accidentally profound, and often super-bossy. They're exhausting in the best possible way. I also just adore infants and toddlers and I could hold them and play with them all day! I have been known to quickly figure out how to accommodate even the most challenging babies. I aim to be flexible! It’s OK if you need to cancel, I will not be upset or expect payment. It's perfectly OK to come home early, I will not expect payment for the full booking time. I will always stay longer if you need me to as well, so long as it doesn't interfere with another booking. I understand life is unpredictable and I hope I can make life easier for parents. Just keep me in the loop and I'll do the same.

$40 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 8 families in San Francisco, CA

Hello, My name is Chanakarn, I also go by Chana. I’ve been babysitting since before the age of 18, after the age of 18 I’ve been nannying since then, which have now been 7 years of my nannying career. I’ve worked with many families for occasionally nannying, temporary nanny, one-time, part-time, as will have full-time nanny, including both short term and long term care. Some families have pets, dogs, cat, or both, I get along with them as well, and sometimes will do dog sitting, as well as cat sitting. I’ve cared for children at the age of 1 months to the age of 13 year, which is definitely a wide range of different age group. This brings different energy, tactics, methods, and skills out to teach, grow, and learn alongside with them. I can confidently say that all of the children I’ve taken care of have their own unique personality and different ways of expressing their feelings. I’ve never deny their thoughts and expressions, but will calmly show and explain what action is not nice to do if any case, how it can hurt others or harm themselves. Throughout the years of my experience I’ve learned so much and do understand ways to adapt and work with different individual personality traits. I love to see each individual grow and will continue to do what I love.

Hello, dear families! My name is Bruna, and I’m 30 years old. I have a bachelor’s degree in social communication. I consider myself very open-minded, dedicated, easygoing, and proactive. "When we hired Amani, we felt like we hit the jackpot. We were very lucky to find her on UrbanSitter at the beginning of school year. She was picking up kids from school, taking them to afternoon activities, helping them with assignments. She prepped food for them, helped organize their closets and keep their spaces neat and orderly. We would hire her again in a heartbeat."
