Tierra 1 review
$25 per hour for 1 child

Hi, I’m Tierra — a nurturing childcare professional and experienced educator with a Master’s in Education and a passion for child‑led learning. I am CPR and first aid certified. My professional experience is rooted in the Reggio Emilia philosophy, where I honor each child’s voice, curiosity, and right to explore the world around them. I currently support a wonderful family on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings. I’m now looking to partner with a family in need of morning care on those days and full day care on Tuesdays and Thursdays. With years of teaching experience from PreK through 5th grade, I bring both gentle care and educational insight to every home I serve. Whether we’re discovering nature together or building confidence through play, I offer a calm, respectful presence — along with optional tutoring sessions for families seeking academic support.

“Tierra was one of my son's daycare teachers from when he was five months old until around 14 months old. He absolutely LOVED her, as did all the other children in the class from what I saw. The daycare was right next to my office so I would frequently visit during the day and had the opportunity to see how Tierra interacted with the babies. She was an excellent caretaker, even when the kids were young and not mobile so they required a lot of help. She was also very patient, which is of course necessary when dealing with infants and toddlers but not always easy to do. Better than just being good at caring FOR the babies, she also cared ABOUT them. She had funny nicknames for each child and always knew what to do or say to make them laugh. I would definitely recommend her as a babysitter!!”

Oluwafunmbi $28 per hour for 1 child

Hi! I’m Funmbi 😊 I recently graduated from Boston University School of Medicine with a Master’s in Medical Sciences, and I’ve always naturally been someone who takes care of others. I’m the oldest of five siblings, so a lot of my experience started at home, helping out, staying organized, and being someone my siblings could rely on. I’ve also worked with kids of all ages through my church’s children’s and youth ministry, so I’m comfortable stepping in whether it’s playtime, helping with homework, or keeping a routine going. I also volunteer in my community and plan to attend medical school, so being dependable and attentive really matters to me. I’d describe myself as calm, patient, and easy to be around. I try to meet kids where they are, whether they’re energetic, shy, or just need someone to listen. I also worked as a Patient Care Assistant, which helped me become even more attentive, responsible, and aware when it comes to safety and making sure people feel comfortable and supported. I love animals (especially dogs), so I’m more than happy to be around pets too! I’m happy to help with homework, meals, bedtime routines, or just keeping kids engaged with fun activities (and yes, I’m definitely the type to build forts or play games with them 😊). Overall, I just aim to create a space where kids feel comfortable and cared for, and where parents feel at ease knowing everything is in good hands.

"When we hired Amani, we felt like we hit the jackpot. We were very lucky to find her on UrbanSitter at the beginning of school year. She was picking up kids from school, taking them to afternoon activities, helping them with assignments. She prepped food for them, helped organize their closets and keep their spaces neat and orderly. We would hire her again in a heartbeat."
