Hi, I’m Amel (uh-mel)! I’m 18 and live in the Laurel/Fulton area. I’m currently attending HCC, where I’m studying pediatric nursing, so working with children is something I’m truly passionate about. I love being around kids and have lots of hands-on experience caring for my younger brother, cousins, and family friends. I’m comfortable caring for children of many different ages, from toddlers to grade-schoolers, and I always try to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy while they’re with me. I’d describe myself as fun, bubbly, loving, and responsible, and I enjoy finding ways to keep kids entertained while also making sure they’re well cared for. Outside of school and babysitting, some of my hobbies include drawing, painting, cooking, gaming, and spending time outdoors. I have worked in early childhood education since 2015 with experience working with newborns, infants, and toddlers as a teacher, nanny, and healthcare worker. I have also worked one-on-one as a tutor with children ages 7-13. Education includes a B.S. in Psychology and NAEYC-certified infant and toddler Child Development training with CPR and first-aid certification. I've spent the last six years working as a nanny and childcare provider in Boston MA and have recently moved back to Washington, DC. I am currently available to work full-time in the DMV area.
