Hi, I’m Amel (uh-mel)! I’m 18 and live in the Laurel/Fulton area. I’m currently attending HCC, where I’m studying pediatric nursing, so working with children is something I’m truly passionate about. I love being around kids and have lots of hands-on experience caring for my younger brother, cousins, and family friends. I’m comfortable caring for children of many different ages, from toddlers to grade-schoolers, and I always try to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy while they’re with me. I’d describe myself as fun, bubbly, loving, and responsible, and I enjoy finding ways to keep kids entertained while also making sure they’re well cared for. Outside of school and babysitting, some of my hobbies include drawing, painting, cooking, gaming, and spending time outdoors. I’d love to bring that creativity and energy into babysitting by doing fun activities, playing games, getting creative, or simply hanging out and making sure your child has a great time while you're away!

I have been working with kids for a very long time with family and outside of family. I love having fun and also being open and experiencing New things. I have also worked with a summer camp (Therapeutic Recreation) with kids with disabilities so I am open and willing to work with all types of kids. Hi! I am on my third year as a full time elementary school art teacher for AACPS. I teach PreK-5th, though I teach primarily 3rd grade and under. I’m creative and fun. I love working with kids! Before working at AACPS, I worked at a private special education school for two years so I have a lot of experience with all kinds of personalities. I have a BFA in Painting and currently I am working on my teaching license since I am a conditional hire. Before teaching, I worked at M&T bank for two years but I left because banking is not really for me. I am a sensitive and creative soul. Selling credit cards and home equities was not bringing me joy. I am happy to say I have found a lot of fulfillment in working with my students. I also am a huge animal lover! I was a dog walker and animal care taker for Unleashed Baltimore for two years as well. I walked and cared for mostly cats and dogs, but there were a couple birds on the client roster.
