I'm from a small town in Southeastern Ohio, but I've lived in Raleigh, North Carolina for over 10 years now. At age ten I acquired my Red Cross Babysitting certificate and started babysitting younger kids. As a youth, I was on the swim team, studied multiple different disciplines of dance, was always in plays and helping with the local theater, tutoring at-risk youth, and I delivered newspapers 6 days a week in addition to occasional mowing, raking, and snow shoveling around town and also selling baked goods, saplings, and homemade crafts at the local f Farmers Market. I have been an American Red Cross certified lifeguard and also a swim instructor for the past 14+ years. I have saved hundreds of lives in my role as a lifeguard. In 2018 I was the Head Lifeguard of Sliding Rock in the Pisgah National Forest(Brevard, NC) and saved lives and was in charge of emergency situations, scheduling, and staffing from Memorial day to Labor day. A few years ago I was the aquatics manager at a country club. Years before all that I guarded a very deep 30 acre quarry (7 days a week with 7 other lifeguards) that hosted music festivals every weekend. I am very calm and cognizant in emergency situations and am the kind of nanny that tends to be cautious and preventative in regards to safety. I have spent many years gaining the trust of my students that are learning how to swim. I'm very good with the younger children and beginners; 2-4 year olds are my favorite to teach. I was a nanny for a family for all of 2021. I took care of three girls, ages 4, 7, and 11 years old, three days a week from 7am to 6pm. They also had 3 dogs, a cat, a bunny, a leopard gecko, and 16 chickens. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to continue to work for them after they moved over an hour away. I am still good friends with the family and go visit them at least once or twice a year, and occasionally still house and pet sit for them. I love children(so much so that I still don't have my own yet) and I love animals. I am very detail oriented and have a gift for maintaining many small details, as I've also worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years in addition to my 14+ years in aquatics with at least 9 of those years in aquatics management. Nannying is truly rewarding for me and provides me with skills I will use in my future. “Fancy is THE PERFECT nanny/babysitter/teacher/seriously ALL OF the above! She is a licensed teacher and she has been a nanny with my toddler son since June 2025 when he was 2y.o. until end of Feb 2026 3y.o. She has seen EVERY challenge with him. He was born a micro preemie with developmental delays ranging from speech, OT, PT and feeding and she has literally helped him grow leaps and bounds through it all! This is not an exaggeration. We love Fancy so much (and all of our therapists see why!) and the only reason she isn't with our son anymore is because he is old enough now to be encouraged to go to daycare and be in an environment with children since he doesn't have that otherwise. It was really difficult for us to part ways (but she will always be the ideal person we contact for any day or night we need someone to watch him). She is worth more than her rates. Truly.
