Hi, I'm Shannon! I love working with kids, and have many years of childcare experience. Most recently, I have been nannying a six-month-old infant in Sleepy Hollow, and two toddlers in Irvington, doing lots of storytime and outdoor play. I grew up in Bergen County, NJ, and now live in Nyack, NY. I am currently in grad school part-time at SUNY New Paltz to become a child therapist, and have extensive and varied experiences working with kids aged 1-16, at New Paltz Youth Center, All About Me Early Learning Center in Cresskill, NJ, and Tenafly Nature Center’s nature-based summer camp, in addition to various babysitting, tutoring, and volunteering experiences. I am very interested in working with families on a part-time basis to provide fun, engaging experiences for kids, from infants up to teens. When working with kids, I take into account their strengths, personal interests, and stage of development, and like to build a strong relationship where each child feels respected and supported in various areas of their life. I love integrating each child's unique creativity and understanding of the world into how I work with them on their homework, art projects, and play time. Hi! My name is Chloe and I will be a Senior at the University of Texas at Austin next August. I graduated from Irvington High School in 2021 and am from Westchester, NY. I am studying Special Education at UT Austin and plan to become an Elementary school teacher post graduation. My friends and family would describe me as responsible, caring, and creative. My experience with children includes, babysitting for multiple families since I was 13 years old, looking after my twin brothers who are 8 years younger, teaching English to elementary school students in Chiang Mai, Thailand and San Isidro, Costa Rica, teaching weekly mental health lessons at elementary while in Austin, volunteering at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually impaired through my sorority Delta Gamma, teaching tennis lessons to children, working at art studio and children’s birthday parties, working with the Best Buddies program from individuals with intellectual disabilities and tutoring. A little about me, I come from a family of six and the oldest out of my four siblings. I was varsity tennis captain in high school and I play pickle ball, paddle and tennis competitively.
