As a musical theatre professional who attended UC (CCM), I’ve always had a deep passion for caregiving, which I’ve nurtured alongside my love for the stage. From a young age, I found immense joy in helping kids in kindergarten through second grade learn to read, write, and spell. It was the highlight of my day, and I cherished every moment of it. In high school, I also attended trade school for nursing, where I learned essential skills like CPR, First Aid, and swaddling. Afterward, I worked as a dietary aide in a nursing home, spending my free time with Alzheimer’s patients. It was a truly rewarding experience, and I loved making them feel loved and cared for, no matter how our conversations went. Musical theatre has also been a wonderful way for me to connect with the youth and share my knowledge. I recently closed a production of “Beauty and the Beast” at the Taft Theatre, and after every school show, I had the joy of engaging with the children and answering their questions about theatre. Hi, my name is Talia! I'm currently majoring in psychology and minoring in film studies at the University of Cincinnati. My experience ranges from sitting for several notable families over the years (including the son of Scott Devendorf: member of Grammy Award-winning band The National), to more than a year with many great families within Sitting Made Simple, to years and years of working as a mother's helper and babysitter for family and friends. I am the older sister of three fun and unique little siblings and the older cousin of a handful of amazing and adorable little first cousins on my mother's side. My youngest brother has a mild form of Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as ADHD and a couple of mood disorders, so I am comfortable watching children with some special needs. Furthermore, throughout my time babysitting professionally, I have sat for other children with special needs (such as Down Syndrome and a more incapacitating form of Autism Spectrum Disorder). I have experience with children as young as a few months old all the way through older teens with special needs. I really enjoy getting to know and caring for new children--especially babies. I also really enjoy caring for pets while babysitting--I am a big animal person. I started out as an infant teacher and I cared for babies between the age of 6 weeks and 18 months for nearly 3 years. I then moved to a toddler classroom where I cared for children between the ages of 2 years to 3 years. Prior to working in a child care center I was a babysitter and a nanny while still in school.
