Hello I am Mayson! I recently finished Culinary school back in August and I am waiting to be sent out onto my new job which I will start the beginning of 2026! In the meantime I was looking into being a sitter. I worked for a nonprofit organization on the west side of Pittsburgh called HOPE for Tomorrow as a program facilitator working with 1st-5th graders and assisting with 6th grade and up. I have all clearances needed to work with kids. I am servsafe certified if that matters to anyone but I am also CPR and first aid certified as well. I like doing physical activities like outdoor sports and thing like that but I also like indoor activities such as cooking, coloring, video games and movie/tv show watching

I have been babysitting, pet sitting and caring for others since I first began working at age 15. During my college years I helped care for my grandparents throughout their hospice time. I would clean the house, dress and even cut my own grandfathers hair when needed. I have experience watching large groups of children as I regularly volunteer for my church’s vacation bible school. I run a class of about 8-10. The newest addition to our family has just turned one and I have loved every moment of caring for my nephew in any way I can. Toddlers are such a joy! Additionally, my skills as a trained veterinary nurse have allowed me to foster a strong caregiver mindset and has provided me the skills to care for a multitude of species in a variety of ways. Due to the nature of this field, I am not intimidated by cleaning messes, handling emergencies and assessing the situation as it develops. Whether it’s pets or people, I will be sure to treat every aspect with care and compassion. I have reliable transportation and a flexible schedule which allows me to be available when emergencies pop up!

Hi Families, My name is Ruthie B and I have worked in childcare and senior care for 5+ years. I have a B.A. from Pitt in Media and Communication with a focus in Professional Writing. I started out with babysitting for friends and family. Eventually I was hired at Beth Jacob Preschool at the request of the parents who were my clients. My formal training has mostly been in the Reggio style, but I have learned and incorporated methods of Montessori as well.I am certified in CPR and I have been for many years. I have been trained and certified for child and infant CPR training specifically. I am also certified for ECE-4 Behavior In The Early Childhood Classroom (Certificate available up request.) My favorite ages are the preschool years. Personally, I believe in fresh air, relentless positive reinforcement, active play, healthy boundaries and honest communication between child and caregiver. I try to lead from there. One of my favorite things to do for the kids I work with is to bring a "bag of fun" with me to the job. I like to include simple, fun things that most kids enjoy, like stickers and bubbles, for the children to explore. This gives the parents a chance to leave on a happy note, and also usually gets kids off screens for at least a few minutes. I do most enjoy sharing new children's books and great children's books authors that they have not yet discovered. The services I am currently offering include childcare/nannying, babysitting, light housekeeping/household assistance and meal prep, local errands, I use public transportation and ride service, but I don't foresee that being an expense for my clients. I have availability throughout the week excluding Friday nights and Saturday morning.
