I’m the middle child of six, so moderating sibling conflict is something I’m extensively familiar with. This also means I have a ton of nieces and nephews, so I’ve had experience with children from infants up to high school. Arts and crafts are my jam! Anything artsy is right up my alley. I’m also reasonably good at most ball sports (don’t ask me to surf though; it’s not pretty) and like the outdoors. I’m a hands-on learner, so I try to impart any academic lessons in a fun, participation-oriented way to keep kiddos engaged. I’m also an experienced housekeeper, cook, and pet sitter (I’m a current cat servant -iykyk- and grew up with dogs, cats, hamsters, chickens, sheep, lizards, and horses).
“Cody was great. The kids had lots of fun with her. ”
Hello families! My name is Sophie and I am 29 years old. I’m originally from Germany and live in the Marina with my husband. I‘m offering child care and household services which I have years of experience with. I enjoy taking care of kids and helping them throughout their daily activities. I am an Occupational Therapist and have been working with kids since I was a teenager. I was an Aupair (2[removed]) here in the Bay Area and loved being a part of my hostkids‘ (6 and 8 years old) daily life. I also have experience watching toddlers and taking care of babies through nannying jobs and family. I look forward to bringing support and joy to your home and making your life easier. See you soon, Sophie 😊 - Valid Green Card / Work authorisation - California Driver’s License since 2021
“Sophie was wonderful with our almost-3-year-old. Ollie took to her immediately, and they had a blast together at the park. She’s warm, attentive, and clearly experienced with little ones, and as a German speaker she was a great fit for our family. Communication was easy and she showed up right on time. We’re already booking her again and would recommend her without hesitation.”
Hi, I’m Maria, a highly experienced and compassionate caregiver with a strong background in education and specialized child care. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Preparation for Teaching and currently work as a substitute teacher, supporting students across a wide range of ages, abilities, and learning environments. I previously worked as a Preschool Teacher at La Petite Academy, where I was responsible for maintaining a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom. I supported daily routines, led age-appropriate learning activities, assisted with meals and transitions, and used positive behavior guidance to support social and emotional development. I understand how important consistency, patience, and clear communication are for young children. In addition, I have extensive experience working with children with disabilities and medical needs. I have supported children with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, visual impairments, seizure disorders, behavioral challenges, and children who require tube feeding. Through my work in special education settings, I developed a calm, attentive, and safety-focused approach to care. I am comfortable following care plans, recognizing signs of distress, and working closely with families to meet each child’s individual needs. Beyond my education background, I have spent several years sailing internationally as part of a small crew, traveling over 15,000 nautical miles. This experience strengthened my sense of responsibility, safety awareness, problem-solving skills, and ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations. These qualities directly support my work with children and families. Families describe me as dependable, nurturing, and confident. I take pride in being someone parents can trust with their children’s safety, well-being, and daily care. I genuinely enjoy building meaningful connections with children and supporting families with reliable, thoughtful care.
My name is Jessica but I prefer to be called Jessy (system won't allow me to update my name). I’m a mom of a 10-year-old and a 3-year-old with a long background in childcare—babysitter, nanny, teacher, after-school, and summer camp work. I’m patient, dependable, and comfortable with kids of all ages, pets, and light household help. I am a part time HR consultant who would love to make a little extra money and always love being around awesome kiddos. I am generally available Tues and Thur mornings and evenings as well as weekends.
Hi - my name is Keith and I'm currently a preschool teacher. I have 11 years experience working with 2 - 5-year-old children. I believe every child is capable of learning and growing in a supportive environment. I also have an educational background in English and creative writing. I'm a published author. Along with babysitting, I can also cook, tutor English writing / reading, and do household errands if needed. I'm allergic to cats but I'm happy to work with families with dogs.

"UrbanSitter is my go-to for quality sitters! I can book weeks ahead of time or easily find a same-day sitter when in a bind. I even hired a part-time nanny during a daycare transition. Customer service is helpful and babysitters respond in a timely manner."
