Hi Bay Area neighbors! My name is Astrid, and I'm a responsible and energetic careworker invested in providing fun and culturally informed care. I am adaptable to your unique family needs and want to create a fun and safe environment for your family. I'm currently a master of social work student and aspiring birthworker with experience caring for children, teens, and adults in a mental health capacity. I also have experience caring for infants, toddlers, and elementary-aged children, older adults and pets. I was raised by my grandmother who ran a small at-home daycare which sparked my passion for supporting healthy family ecosystems. Nowadays, I'm a tía to a 1-year-old baby and a cat mom to 2 rambunctious kittens. Because I am a full-time student with a day-time mental health worker job, I'm looking for one-time, occasional and part-time work. Please message me with your questions and inquiries. Let's see if we'd be a good fit!
“Astrid has been caring for me and my baby since my pregnancy. I’m a first time, young mom and Astrid was there for overnight support, she was available throughout the evening for diaper changes, warming up bottles and making sure my baby was fed, warm and happy. As my baby grew up Astrid has been great at making sure baby gets age appropriate play, including dancing and reading. Astrid often takes her on walks and fun local trips like the beach! She’s an integral part of our family and I know she’ll treat your family with the same respect, punctuality and care.”
Hello! My name is Leo (he/him) and I am a PsyD student in Berkeley. I used to work as a paraeducator for both OUSD and AUSD before I became a full time student! I am currently/consistently babysitting for a family with a 3 year old whose primary language is Japanese. Responsibilities also include driving their child (with family’s car) to gymnastics, bring him to the park, potty training, bathing, and putting him to bed/naptime. I’ve also worked with high schoolers for 3 years and have been working with elementary schoolers for a little over a year. All of my coworkers and students would probably describe me as patient, easy going, and someone who has a good sense of humor :) I have also previously been certified as an EMT and worked as a vet tech for many years so I’ve definitely got the range of skills!
“Leo is everything we need - always on time, thorough with questions and prep, and knows how to go with the flow on everything. Leo has done everything from playing and reading with our toddler indoors, taking him to the park and on walks in the neighborhood, bike rides, bathing and dinner time, all the way to putting him down at bedtime. Our toddler takes to Leo very quickly every time and we are so grateful!”
Hello! My name is Jia and I am a recent graduate from San Francisco State University. I have an extensive background working with children, mainly grades K-6th. I have worked at an afterschool/summer program for 6 years (2 years volunteer, 4 years paid), looking after around 50 kids at a time. My roles there included chaperoning on daily park trips and weekly field trips, taking care of lunch and cleanup operations, as well as tutoring on math and English. My top priority is to always ensure the children are safe, but also to add some fun into their day! I understand that every child has different needs, so I’m always adapting and learning as I go. I can assist with cooking/meal prepping, cleaning, and running any errands as well if necessary. I also speak Mandarin and Cantonese!
Hi families, My name is Gabrielle and I am a current master’s student at CSU East Bay in the School Psychology Program. I graduated from UCLA with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Applied Development Psychology where I also interned at the UCLA Infant Development Program. In this role I cared for children three months to three years old, while taking courses focused on child development that could be directly applied in a high-quality early childhood education setting. My values and training are rooted in developmentally-appropriate and child-centered practices, where I truly believe in fostering child autonomy. With robust training in child development, I am willing and able to implement any routines and strategies you may already have with your children. I have a long history of caring for children starting in 2015 when I was in high school working in a home day care, babysitting for family members, and serving as a regular sitter for two families in Los Angeles 2[removed]. My more recent roles have been largely clinical or mental-health focused. I spent two years working as a clinic coordinator at a UCLA Health autism clinic and most recently worked at an elementary school supporting Tk-6th grade students with social-emotional learning. Generally, I am a fun-loving, optimistic, and ambitious individual. In my free time I enjoy cooking, baking, thrifting for things to decorate my new apartment, and hiking / being outdoors. I am a full-time student and work two full days at an elementary site so evening and weekend babysitting works best for me. I would be happy to connect at a play date, park, or library, etc., to see if I might be a good match for you and your family! Certifications / Clearance: - Minor in applied developmental psychology (completed 300 hour internship at Megan E. Daly Infant Development Program) - California Certificate of Clearance (required by CA public schools & includes a Department of Justice Background Check) - Infant / Child CPR First Aid Certified (2022), online renewed 2026 - Tuberculosis negative (tested 2025) - Up to date on vaccines
Hello It’s lovely to meet you! My name is Cori Williams, I have nearly 20 years of experience working with children in the Bay Area. My journey working with children started when I was very young. I started a babysitting business in my neighborhood by going door to door as a pre teen to offer my services. I later got myself CPR and AED certified through my work as a swim instructor and lifeguard, where I spent several years teaching infants and toddlers how to swim and building strong safety skills around water safety and swim team training. After seven years working as a full-time lifeguard and swim instructor, I transitioned into full-time nannying and have since worked closely with several families providing dependable, long-term childcare. I have spent years studying early childhood education and child psychology, and I am currently continuing my education to further deepen my understanding of child development. I am especially passionate about supporting children with diverse developmental needs. Throughout my career I have worked with children with ADHD, autism, behavioral challenges, Down syndrome, and other special care needs. I approach each child with patience, compassion, and an individualized approach that supports their emotional development, confidence, and independence. I strongly believe in gentle parenting practices that prioritize communication, emotional awareness, and respect for children as individuals. A Montessori style of parenting. I focus on creating engaging and enriching environments where children feel safe to express themselves, explore their interests, and grow at their own pace. In addition to childcare, I can also assist families with light household support, meal preparation, organization, school pickups, activity planning, and creating fun educational experiences for children. Outside of work, I enjoy studying child. psychology, holistic living, and creative activities such as art. My long-term goal is to continue my education and eventually work in behavioral therapy supporting children with special needs. I have a clean driving record and can provide strong references upon request. Thank you for your time and consideration! I look forward to meeting with you. Best, Cori Williams 1(916) 500 - 9739
