My instincts are to first observe behavior as communication of a need, to asses how that need can be met, and provide gentle redirection to allow a child-led exploration of the world. My experience as a private nanny is with children from 12 weeks to 10 years, and these principles have served me with children of all ages. Originally from the Pacific Northwest, I enjoy spending time outdoors at the beach or camping in the mountains, so Southern California is a paradise to me.
