I graduated from Dominican University of California in May of 2019 with a degree in Biology. Before I attended Dominican I went to Terra Linda High School and Mark Day, so I am a Marin local. Aside from my schooling, I like to travel, surf, play soccer, spend time with my family and friends, bake and more. Hi there, I’m Kaelyn! After taking a break from UrbanSitter to work with families independently, I’m excited to reconnect with this amazing community. I’ve lived in San Francisco since 2017 and earned my B.S. in Molecular Biology from the University of San Francisco in December 2020. Now, I work full-time as a Program Manager in the biotech industry (specifically the research side of molecular diagnostics) I’ve been babysitting since I was 2011, starting with family friends’ children & gaining experience throughout HS, College, and Post Grad with a wide variety of ages & number of children, experience with 3mo–12 yrs and 1-3 children. As well over the years, I’ve gained extensive childcare experience, including five summers as a camp counselor at Rawhide Ranch, a Western horse camp in San Diego. As a counselor for 5-12 children a week, between children 7-15. There, I assisted with meals, cabin life, teaching classes, and creating a fun, positive environment for campers. In 2019, I worked as an Au Pair in Madrid, caring for two wonderful girls (ages 8 and 11). I loved teaching them English and forming a lasting bond with their family. Childcare has always been a passion of mine. Whether babysitting or tutoring in science and math, I enjoy engaging with kids through games, songs, and creative activities. Hi. I grew up in Marin and just moved back after living in Boston for ten years. I have worked with children in many different capacities since high school. I have worked as a camp counselor, babysitter, and teacher in a non classroom setting. Most recently I worked at the Museum of Science in Boston as well as an attendant in the child care room in a gym. One of the hardest parts of moving back to California is leaving the families I had been babysitting for years. I am comfortable working with all age groups. I have worked with infants as young as nine days old to teens, though most of my work has been with children between three months and ten years. My experience has taught me that nothing is more exhilarating, rewarding, or exhausting then working with children. I have found that a good sense of humor and open communication with parents is essential. Having people trust me to look after their child/children is a great responsibility that I take seriously. A bit about me. I am an avid reader. Like many people, I love to travel. I am currently on a quest to visit as many national parks as I can - 54 thus far. I am always happiest when I can get outside though I must stay vigilant about not getting burned. I am a vegetarian who loves to bake with varying levels of success.
