Hi! I'm Kate, and I can help with a lot of things! In my work as a caregiver, educator, and developmental interventionist, I am deeply committed to helping children understand that they matter. In 2018 I earned a master’s degree in School Counseling which gave me in-depth training in child development, social-emotional learning, and behavioral support. After working for years in public schools in various advising/interventionist roles, I decided to apply my knowledge and skills in more flexible, hands-on settings — working directly with children and families in their homes. I encourage curiosity, creativity, and fun in my work with kids. My classroom experience has given me a lot of tools such as ways to make routines fun, communicating rules and expectations, using positive reinforcement, and tons of arts and crafts ideas. Through patient guidance and empathy, I help children build their communication skills and practice emotional regulation so they can thrive socially and academically. Each child is unique, and each one deserves to feel confident in their ability to learn and grow in their own way- I can help them with that! My ultimate goal is to be a positive and empathetic presence in your home. How can I help?
“Kate is very creative and patient. Our girls love her!”
Hi families! I’m a bilingual educator with a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and a Bilingual Authorization in Spanish. I have several years of experience working with children from toddlers through elementary school as an Early Head Start teacher, student teacher, and classroom educator. I am patient, dependable, and caring, and I enjoy creating fun, safe, and engaging experiences for children. Whether it’s helping with homework, reading stories, playing games, or supporting daily routines, I strive to provide high-quality care that families can trust.
“Catherine was great with our kids!”
Hi, I’m Sonia I have a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Adolescent Development with a focus on Elementary Teaching at San Francisco State University. I’ve been working toward a career in education for over five years, and I truly enjoy supporting children as they learn and grow. I have strong hands-on experience working with infants and young children, and I’m especially confident in caring for babies and supporting their early development. I’ve worked as a lead teacher in an infant classroom, where I was responsible for maintaining routines, supporting feeding and diapering, soothing, and creating a calm, safe, and nurturing environment. Along with my infant experience, I’ve also worked with children up to age five and as a substitute teacher in a variety of classroom settings, which has helped me adapt to different needs and personalities. In my current role as a teacher, I create engaging and supportive environments where children feel comfortable exploring and learning. I enjoy activities like sensory play, reading, music, and simple crafts that support early development in a fun and meaningful way. I value clear communication with families and believe every child deserves patience, attention, and care. I’m also fluent in Spanish, which allows me to connect with a wider range of families. Outside of work, I love spending time with animals and have experience caring for dogs of all sizes.
Hello! My name is Catherine, and I’m so excited to be here! I’ve been a childcare, senior care, and pet care provider for over a decade, and I believe that a caregiver is most effective when they act as a partner to the family, which is why I see us as a team in supporting your family member/s in good communication, attentiveness, and safety. Although I do not have as many reviews as others, as I am new to UrbanSitter, I am not new to caregiving, and I am qualified. I invite you to have a meet & greet, either by phone, text, virtual, or in-person, to see if I fit your agenda. *My approach is rooted in positivity, kindness, trustworthiness, and a calm demeanor, thereby creating an atmosphere of awareness and a safe space. *Lastly, I am happy to transport (excellent driving record), do errands, light housework, laundry, prepare meals/snacks, activities, and tutor homework. Experience: Day Care Center-11 years Independent Caregiver/Baby Sitter-8 years Tutor Online-7 years (Reading/English/Writing) Psychology Degree-Online Counselor/Coach for Couples & Self-improvement CPR Certified *Baby Sitting, Childcare, Tutor, Pet Care, Special Needs Children.
“Catherine is one of those rare people you can always count on. She’s trustworthy, gentle, genuinely kind-hearted and her reliability gives such peace of mind as a babysitter. I would never hesitate to hire her or recommend her.”
Child care: Hello! My name is Serenity and I have been working in childcare since I was 14. I am one of 48 cousins so for as long as I can remember, I have always been taking care of someone younger than myself. I have worked as a full time nanny to a family with an infant under 8 months. This included being home alone for 8+ hours and in charge of all care. I followed a strict sleep schedule and routine. Prepared bottles and purées. Reference available for contact. As well as done over night shifts to help with sleep training and regression. I have been called the “baby whisperer” by more than one. I believe with patients, a calm energy, and a strong routine, all infants can be sleep trained easily. I am also a high school and travel ball softball coach so my training in CPR/First Aide/Basic medical care is very extensive as it’s required for those positions. I am also fluent in ASL and studied child development at Golden West College. I enjoy art, sports, adventures, learning, and all things fun! Elderly care: I grew up living with my grandmother who had COPD. I was one of her main caregivers for the better half of 5 years. I helped schedule and monitor doctor’s visits. Kept her on a very strict schedule that followed her doctor’s instructions, administered medication, picked up medications, drove her anywhere her heart desired, and spent so many hours watching the cooking network. But always found every second so much fun. I worked as a patient services supervisor for a very reputable physical therapy company so I understand the details of American health insurance better than most. I also learned many fall prevention, basic mobility training, and mobility support throughout my years there. I have always been someone who loves to spend my time with the generations from before me. Before she passed, my great grandma, who lived in Apple Valley, and I would talk on the phone almost daily, spend hours writing letters back and forth because she felt it was a lost art, went on road trips with over 16 hour long drives. Just chatting and enjoying. I love old movies, TV shows, music and am happy to help with any needs to help the person in your life in any way I can. While also hopefully alleviating any stress from you any way I can.
