Taking care of children is not as easy as many people think, but it’s something that has always come naturally to me. I’m the second oldest of seven siblings, so growing up I often took on the role of a second mom—making sure everyone was safe, supported, and taken care of. That experience helped me develop patience, responsibility, and a deep understanding of children. Another fun fact about me is that I work in the dental health field, mainly with kids. I work in a pediatric dental and orthodontic office, so you might occasionally hear me talk about dental health—please excuse me if I do! While I may not have formal childcare certifications, I have years of real-life experience caring for children and building meaningful connections with them. I've been babysitting children since I was 14, when I started watching over family friends' children. When I was 15 I started working at Strawberry Canyon Explorer Camp where I worked for 8 years teaching children ages 4-10. At camp I worked with kids one on one as well as in large groups. I've also spent years volunteering in local elementary schools. I love teaching and hope to be an elementary school teacher in a few years. Hello my name is Evin! I am a graduate of San Francisco State University where I earned a BA in Child and Adolescent Development with a concentration in youth work and out of school time as well as a Minor in Africana studies. I also have a Masters (MA) in Drama Therapy at CIIS.
