My experience working with children began in parks and recreation, and lastly as a school counselor in the public school system. Throughout the years, I have been around children with and without developmental barriers to learning and physical challenges. I enjoy being around young-hearted people as they learn about life and themselves. Hello families! During the day, I am a Substitute Teacher for K-12 charter schools. In addition, I am a Tutor specializing in ESL, ELA and Reading Comprehention. I have a Master's degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language and I've served in the Peace Corps as a TEFL Teacher and Trainer (Ukraine, 2[removed], and Uzbekistan 2002-2005. ) I am a very caring, fun and creative caregiver who thinks outside of the box! I like to create fun activities to keep the kids busy and engaged. Not a big fan of Tech for play or entertainment! I prefer Reading books/Storytelling, Arts & Crafts, Games, Outdoor Play, Music & Movement for the little ones (play a little bit of guitar), and Cooking. Lastly, I like helping out with pets and have experience with Seniors as well!

I have 7 years of babysitting experience with kids from 1 month old to 16 years old, and I’ve also taught ballet and Spanish. I hold a Degree in Social Communication and another in Acting, and I’m certified in First Aid and CPR by the Red Cross. Hi parents! A little about me: I'm an independent visual artist, musician, and dancer, and I like to write, read, study languages, spend time with animals, and travel. I graduated with a BA from University of San Francisco in 2014, as a Media Studies major with Spanish and Gender Studies minors. I am vaccinated for COVID-19 and promptly receive booster vaccinations. I have tons of experience with kids! I have used UrbanSitter since 2012, and have had the opportunity to work with kids of all ages - particularly infants as young as 3 months, toddlers, and 3-to-5-year olds. I’m great with older kids as well - in the past I have also coached cheerleading to ages 6-14, worked as a lifeguard and swimming instructor for children aged 6 months to 13 years, tutored middle school-aged kids in a variety of subjects, and worked in a candy store swarming with little ones. So I am comfortable and confident in babysitting for all ages! I am also CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certified. I am well-versed in composting/recycling and other environmental concerns, and am happy to teach children about eco-friendly practices. And most importantly - I love being around kids (and animals)! My favorite activities to do with kids are that of the artistic and adventurous variety...I am happy to spend an afternoon watercolor painting, exploring a new park, making crafts, baking vegan cookies, or navigating a museum. The more engaging the better - if it's a nice day I'd rather be outside taking a walk or traipsing on the beach! I am dedicated to nurturing your child's curiosity, creative-thinking, and adventurous spirit - as these are qualities in myself that I am happy to have harnessed at a young age. I have my CPR/First Aid certification and have had the pleasure of taking care of 3 year old twins with special needs, a 1 1/2 year old for 6 months, providing transportation for a 4 & 6 year old, as well as occasional/date night sitting for kids of all ages.
