Hi! I am just ending 8 great years as an after-school nanny and family assistant and before that 7 great years as a preschool teacher, working with kids aged 2. 5 --5. I worked within 3 classrooms, experiencing all the ages from toddlers to pre-k. I have worked with children of all ages on some level - babysitting, preschool, after-school care, summer programs and tutoring - for the past 30 years. I naturally gravitate to children and get on their level pretty easily while also maintaining the responsibility and authority a child might need when not in the care of parents. My care philosophy is very child centered and respectful, similar to the philosophies of RIE, Magda Geber and play based learning. I am available for date nights, after school and weekend care. Some of my favorite things to do with kids are read (my children's book library keeps growing), craft activities and cooking (bonus: I do the cleanup!).

Hi, I am a 20 year old part time college student from the east bay. I am trained in conflic resolution and outdoor education, I am a lifeguard with CPR certification. I took ASL for 4 years in high-school, and am proficient and able to communicate clearly in ASL. I have worked in many different forms of child care. I have taught and directed circus summer camps as well and classes for 3 years, working with students ages 6 to 15. I taught and demonstrated different circus forms, helping each student succeed. I volunteered as a youth cabin leader for a non-profit organization for 6 weeks over the last 3 years, working with ages 8 to 12. I lived in the cabins with 7-9 students, attending to their needs and supporting them in their social-emotional development. Last spring I was hired as a Facilitation Fellow, I was then in charge of a youth leader as well as a cabin of 7-9 students during the morning and evenings. During the day I taught the curriculum, including conflic resolution, assertiveness and the importance of diversity to 15-16 upper elementary students at a time.

In college I worked for a service (fittingly) called College Nannies and Tutors, which provided on-call care for a variety of families across the Bay Area. I was booked with families whose daycare providers were on vacation, children who were too sick to go to school, and for kids whose parents worked from home - or who just needed a day to themselves! As you can imagine, I got to know a diverse group of children and parents and was able to work closely with them to meet their own special set of needs. I just graduated from school with my Doctorate in Occupational therapy and am looking for extra babysitting to help with paying off my student loans. I work in early childhood mental health and school-based OT. I got my undergraduate degree from Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon, with a major in Theater, emphasis in set construction. I also have a minor in Early Childhood Development. Before COVID I worked at Cal Shakespeare in Berkeley/Orinda. I have been working with children for the past 18 years as a date night sitter, a nanny, a childcare worker, and a preschool teacher. I have experience with all ages.
