I used to work as a behavioral therapist in a variety of settings and manage youth volunteers at my church, and I've learned so much from my time there. My name is Edith, and I’m looking to connect with families in need of consistent childcare support. I am an Early Childhood Educator with 8+ years of experience working with children ages 2–18 in various settings. My journey began as an After School Program Leader and Educational Specialist, where I created and facilitated curriculum for K–12 students. From there, I became a preschool teacher and discovered my true passion in Early Childhood Education. Since then, I’ve served as both Co-Teacher and Head Teacher at private childcare centers, including a Spanish Immersion school and a center supporting families in the tech community. I love to focus my teaching style by prioritizing Social and Emotional Learning and incorporating Music and movement at any opportunity given. I also love to tag team with parents to really get to know you Childs developmental needs, and how I can support that while they are under my care. As a Baby sitter, I love to avoid screen time as long as possible, and prefer to provide various provocations that help your child practice critical thinking, healthy communication styles, and also answer their curiosities about the world around them. I pride myself in encouraging Dramatic Play and outdoor play in order to maximize my time with your child during my care. I am a native Spanish Speaker who is fluent in both Spanish and English. I am currently employed as Emergent Multilingual Learner Aide and support English language development with Adolescents. I currently also babysit two of my previous students who is served working at the private child care setting. I also have experience with Curriculum Planning, Developmentally Appropriate Practice, Social and Emotional Learning, Positive Discipline, English Language Development, Language Immersion strategies, Critical Thinking, Reggio Emilia, Music and Movement, and Art.
