Hey Parents! My name is Jessica and I was born and raised in Austin, TX. I graduated with a BA in Theater Arts from the University of Texas at Austin. I have been a babysitter/nanny off and on for the last 13 years. I have looked after newborns and children up to 14 years of age. I truly enjoy spending time with them and being apart of their development journeys. My responsibilities have included picking up/driving children, light child-related household duties, putting down for naps/bedtime (we love a nap routine!), cooking/preparing meals, feeding, helping with homework, reading, going out for walks, and of course general care and playtime! In my off time I have founded a nonprofit called Orísun Collective, and we host creative arts summer camps for kids in Nigeria. I would run the camp as well as teach the acting class. My hope is that all children will have the space and support to be their full selves and reach their full potential. I am a very goal-oriented person, and I know that I am capable of achieving every single thing I put my mind to. I have been hosting an event every 6 months for the last 10 years called Girls With Goals, where I bring a group of women together at my house and we talk about our goals, write them down, and keep each other accountable throughout the year. Hello! I am Los Angeles based, working part time in advertising and looking for a regular part time or occasional childcare position, ideally 10-15 hours a week. I am one of six kids and began working with children at the age of 13. I'm now in my thirties, with many years of nannying behind me. I have taken care of children of all ages and stages of childhood. I have been certified in CPR in the past, and would be willing to update that certification if needed. I am fun, present, and engaging with children. I believe in the importance of enjoying nature, and will often take children on hikes or other outdoor excursions. As a former ballet dancer, I have taught children's dance classes and encourage creative expression in whichever form it might appear. In prior nanny positions I've offered tutoring/homework help with elementary and high school courses. I graduated from UC Berkeley in Spring 2024 with a degree in Theater and Performance Studies and a minor in Dance, which really shows up in how I connect with kids through movement, imagination, and play. Over the years, I’ve worked with numerous families, caring for children of all ages—from newborns to teenagers. I also spent several summers working at my former preschool during high school, which gave me early hands-on experience in a nurturing and structured environment. I’ve often helped with pet care too, including walking dogs, feeding pets, and keeping them happy and safe while families are out or busy.
