I’m often a “grandma “ substitute for kids who don’t see their grandparents or have any. I did some house and dog sitting for a family in La Jolla also. I’m the proud grandma of 4: 2,4,10 &14. And the mother of twins. I was a yard duty when my sons were in elementary school in addition to volunteering in both classes. I continued to volunteer with an elementary school teacher for the next 20 years. I developed a relationship with these families. I attended birthdays and later their graduations. Unfortunately Covid was the end of my last nanny job. I have since moved to north county to be closer to the grandkids. I currently work 4 days a week until 1:30. I have some flexibility in case I was needed earlier. I have also self published a book to help young children learn to say polite words. I love young kids and I love spending time with them. There were times when one of them would tell me things they didn’t tell their moms. I became their confidante. However, if I was told something I thought their mom should know, I would tell her. It helped keep mom up to speed without breaking my confidence with the daughter.
