Through my experience in pediatric healthcare, I've developed a calm, patient, and attentive approach to caring for infants, children, and adolescents while supporting both their emotional and daily care needs. My experience includes monitoring vital signs, assisting with feeding and hygiene, maintaining patient safety, and helping care for babies and children with medical and developmental needs, including former preemies/NICU transfers and children with epilepsy, autism, and ADHD. In addition to my pediatric healthcare background, I also have experience providing childcare support for family friends and children within my community. My name is Nancy. I am the first born daughter of 8 children. I’ve been helping my mom take care of my siblings which have built the foundation of my profession. I’m currently a preschool teacher and have previous experience with being a substitute teacher for about 6 years. Through substituting, I was able to obtain a lot of my professional experience. I’ve been to a vast amount of daycares where I got to see and learn different learning styles in children as well as different approaches to learning and teaching children to achieve their milestones. I’ve been in a classroom where I’ve had to potty train and can say I was able to learn a few techniques. I’ve also been “long-term” in some sites where I was able to grow a bond with some of the children and celebrate their success. I do have a sibling with Asperger’s autism who is 15, so I have some experience with children on the spectrum.

I've worked as a middle school art teacher and an instructional aide, supporting students with a variety of abilities. I've also been a behavior technician and worked with young ones with ASD. I’ve been a caretaker as a side job since I was 15. I have experience caring for newborns to teenagers, as well as disabled young adults. I am patient, kind, and love to talk/listen to folks stories. As a dog parent myself (two wonderful pups, ages 7 and 13), I'm comfortable caring for both small and large dogs.
