Hi! I'm Kate, and I can help with a lot of things! In my work as a caregiver, educator, and developmental interventionist, I am deeply committed to helping children understand that they matter. In 2018 I earned a master’s degree in School Counseling which gave me in-depth training in child development, social-emotional learning, and behavioral support. After working for years in public schools in various advising/interventionist roles, I decided to apply my knowledge and skills in more flexible, hands-on settings — working directly with children and families in their homes. I encourage curiosity, creativity, and fun in my work with kids. My classroom experience has given me a lot of tools such as ways to make routines fun, communicating rules and expectations, using positive reinforcement, and tons of arts and crafts ideas. Through patient guidance and empathy, I help children build their communication skills and practice emotional regulation so they can thrive socially and academically. Each child is unique, and each one deserves to feel confident in their ability to learn and grow in their own way- I can help them with that! My ultimate goal is to be a positive and empathetic presence in your home. How can I help?
“Kate is very creative and patient. Our girls love her!”
Hi families! I’m a bilingual educator with a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and a Bilingual Authorization in Spanish. I have several years of experience working with children from toddlers through elementary school as an Early Head Start teacher, student teacher, and classroom educator. I am patient, dependable, and caring, and I enjoy creating fun, safe, and engaging experiences for children. Whether it’s helping with homework, reading stories, playing games, or supporting daily routines, I strive to provide high-quality care that families can trust.
“Catherine was great with our kids!”
My name is ElizaBess, I go by Bess. I am 20 years old, a current Registered Behavior Technician, have been sitting for family and friends for around 7 years now and I adore children. I’m very passionate about providing care to children with special needs, specifically autism. I have a pup, Daisy, who is my absolute best friend. In addition to childcare and RBT experience, I also have multiple years of experience in the customer service industry. I got my first job at 14, working at an ice cream shop so I know how to make exceptional treats. I think what makes me a great sitter is that I see the kids as just as much of a person with feelings, opinions and emotions as me. I’m not one to try to put the kids to sleep as fast as I can in order to have my own time. I genuinely enjoy spending time and learning/getting to know these kids in order to make a connection. Despite my age, I am not irresponsible or inexperienced nor am I overly strict or uptight. If you choose me as your sitter, I’m confident you’ll get pretty great reviews from your children:) I have experience in ABA and would also enjoy an opportunity to provide services similar to that.
“Very exceptional and phenomenal in her services. Treated my little kiddo like her own sibling and made him feel very special. Went over and beyond all that was expected as a care giver. Her professionalism is second to none. Definitely recommend her services. Thanks.”
I’m Vera! I’m a mother of a 9 year old kiddo who understands the troubles of finding good childcare. I have experience with all ages of children and elder care. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have!
Hello, and thank you for connecting. My name is Catherine, and I am a Los Angeles Native. I have my Master's degree in Educational Counseling and my B.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling. I have functioned as a professional advocate for 30 years. I have had the privilege of serving individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families throughout Southern California. My experience working with children began in parks and recreation, and lastly as a school counselor in the public school system. Throughout the years, I have been around children with and without developmental barriers to learning and physical challenges. I enjoy being around young-hearted people as they learn about life and themselves. Serving adults with various abilities to be as independent as possible is fantastic because, just like me, everyone wants to be the king/queen of their castle. I appreciate life and all that it offers, learning and being active on my bicycle, walking, playing catch with another, and going to the library are how I enjoy my precious time. I am here to be of service. Please feel free to contact me with any specific questions to help me best meet your child's and or adult care needs. Current Virtus (Protecting God's Children). C.E.R.T. "UrbanSitter is my go-to for quality sitters! I can book weeks ahead of time or easily find a same-day sitter when in a bind. I even hired a part-time nanny during a daycare transition. Customer service is helpful and babysitters respond in a timely manner."
