Hi - My name is Thalissa but you can call me Thali! I’ve been working with kids since I was 16, but my first experience came with my little sister’s birth almost 20 years ago. I started by taking care of her and then began babysitting for my neighbors back in Brazil. I’ve been working with different families in America since I got here 9 years ago. I am in the Berkeley area but also have worked in Oakland, Piedmont, Orinda, Moraga, Kensington, Albany, El Cerrito, and Alameda. I just had a baby girl mid April last year and took a break to enjoy motherhood! I am now back looking for new families! Please let me know if you think we could work well together and we can talk more about it. I have plenty of experience with infants, toddlers and older kids. I can also help with light housework and meal prepping. Last minute/same day requests: I will always try to accommodate as best as I can for same-day and last-minute requests, but please do keep in mind that I also have to find care for my child unless you are comfortable with me bringing her along. Cancelation policy: Please note that a 24 hour notice is expected for cancelations. If you happen to cancel a job and not allowed for a 24 hour notice, I expect to be paid for 50% of the agreed upon hours. If you cancel a job less than 12 hours before start time, I expect to be paid for all of the agreed upon hours. Emergencies do occur, but please take into account that this is my only source of income. Additionally, I always expect to be paid for all of the hours booked, even if you come home earlier or if the booking hours are changed less than a week before the job booked. This policy helps me structure and commit to my schedule, and allows for a mutual and transparent agreement. Work policy: I do not charge for cleaning after the kids and of course myself, and light housekeeping, but if it is expected housework and not agreed to beforehand I am not responsible for fulfilling it. Hi my name is Cindy, I am 25!! I am Bilingual. I’ve lived in Marin county my entire life. I went to Novato high school so I’m very familiar with the area. I also graduated from The school of Paul Mitchell in Sacramento to get my cosmetology license. During high school I’ve volunteered at walker creek, elementary schools for walk-a-thons or after school activities, babysat for parents who had night time GED classes at Marin Oaks high school. Hi. I grew up in Marin and just moved back after living in Boston for ten years. I have worked with children in many different capacities since high school. I have worked as a camp counselor, babysitter, and teacher in a non classroom setting. Most recently I worked at the Museum of Science in Boston as well as an attendant in the child care room in a gym. One of the hardest parts of moving back to California is leaving the families I had been babysitting for years. I am comfortable working with all age groups. I have worked with infants as young as nine days old to teens, though most of my work has been with children between three months and ten years. My experience has taught me that nothing is more exhilarating, rewarding, or exhausting then working with children. I have found that a good sense of humor and open communication with parents is essential. Having people trust me to look after their child/children is a great responsibility that I take seriously. I work full time at a highly regarded Montessori in Corte Madera, caring for 18-36 month-olds and also have experience in a classroom with ages 4-6. I hold an AMI assistant to infancy diploma from Montessori Northwest. If you’re struggling with toilet training, language, sleeping, behavioral issues ect, I have plenty of skills and strategies to share. In a non teacher role, I have lots of experience with all ages. I love being outside and playing sports. I can coach basketball, football, swimming, and skating on a meaningful level however, I’m happy to facilitate any kind of sport, craft, or activity. I'm a Bay Area native and I was a childcare provider and nanny for over 10 years in San Francisco before I began my teaching certification program. I really enjoy working with families and still keep in close contact with the last family I worked with. In the past, I've also worked for the Y.M.C.A. as a coach and teacher for children in their camp program. I love doing arts and crafts activities, and going on outside adventures with kids to parks, museums (California Academy of Sciences is a great one!), and libraries. Most of my past jobs working with families were referrals from other families I worked with, so this is my first time using an online site to apply for positions. My certifications are in Special Education EC-12th grade, E.S.L. EC-12th grade, English Language Arts and Reading 7th-12th grade, and General Education EC-6th grade. While working on my credential I completed internship hours in an elementary school classroom working with children on the Autism Spectrum. My experience in the internship was so inspiring that I decided to make Special Education a focus in teaching. I'm taking this semester off from teaching so I’m mostly tutoring, but also available for occasional babysitting.
