I have been caring for children for most of my life. As the second oldest of five siblings, responsibility came early to me. When I was just 10 years old, I began watching my three-year-old brother while my mother worked. From there, childcare became a natural and meaningful part of my life. As a teenager, I babysat two children every summer, beginning when they were 4 and 6 years old. Those years taught me consistency, patience, and how important it is to build trust with both children and parents. While in college, I worked as a live-in nanny for a family in Portland, Maine. The parents were opening a restaurant, so I provided full-time care for their 18-month-old daughter. My responsibilities included meal preparation, housekeeping, outings, and maintaining daily routines. When their second child was born, I cared for their six-month-old son alongside their almost four-year-old daughter. I remained with the family until the children were 4 and 7 years old. My role included cooking healthy meals, school pickups, park outings, bedtime routines, and occasionally morning routines. I believe children thrive when they are active and engaged, so I prioritized outdoor play whenever possible—trips to playgrounds, local parks for picnics, splash pads, petting zoos, and nature walks. On colder days, we visited the library, did arts and crafts projects, or attended local cafés with live music and child-friendly play areas. I aim to keep children curious, creative, and physically active while ensuring they feel safe and supported. Throughout college, I also volunteered at local shelters, watching children while parents needed to do what they needed to do while living in the shelter. Additionally, during the summers worked at a diabetes camp caring for kids aged 8-15 years old living with diabetes and enjoying two weeks away from home. Following college, I lived in Kerala, India where I taught English and political science to kids aged 3 to 14 years old. More recently, I babysat a 1½-year-old boy in Washington, DC, providing dependable evening care so his busy parents could enjoy occasional date nights. I am responsible, attentive, and deeply experienced with children of different ages. Most importantly, I genuinely enjoy helping children grow, explore, and feel cared for. I am also CPR certified. I looked forward to meeting your little one(s) and supporting their growth and development.
Hi- My name is Bella. I work Monday- Thursday and am looking for a babysitting job for Fridays. I am the oldest of 3 and started babysitting when I was 15. I have 10+ years of experience with ages 4 months and up. I have 7 yrs of experience working with children with Downs Syndrome as well. I am comfortable with kids going through periods of being fussy or having a hard time being away from their parents. I like to keep them engaged with whatever fits their developmental stage whether that be reading books, singing, going to the park, or playing games around the house. If the kids have chores or responsibilities around the house I will make sure they get done if needed. I am CRP and first aid certified and have had experience with medical emergencies. Those moments showed me the importance of being trained in life saving procedures. I am proud to say in those moments my training helped me stay calm and take appropriate action. I have a Honda Civic and don’t mind taking kids places or running errands. I am open to light house keeping like dishes, laundry, and cooking. I grew up in Petaluma and am very close with my family. In my free time I enjoy exploring the city, hiking, and hanging out with friends.
As an aunt and caregiver, I love working with families and their children! I have worked as a day camp counselor, swim teacher, newborn and young child nanny, as well as volunteer with programs like Jasper Ridge Farm and CASA. My favorite part about working with kids and babies is getting to know their individual personalities, as each one is so different! I particularly enjoy and excel at working with kids under the age of five, including newborns and infants. I would say my general approach is to provide fun, creative, and engaging care, with *a lot* of patience and communication. I also believe in gently reaffirming boundaries and doing our best to stick to your child's individual routine. I hope to promote a sense of confidence, creativity, and security in the children I provide care for. I have been infant CPR certified within the last 2.5 years, and will be renewing asap. I have also been lifeguard certified and am more than happy to get re-trained if your child has access to a private pool.
“Shelby has cared for our almost-3yo daughter several times from infant through toddler stages. I’m always impressed at her ability to meet her at her level over time. She is always engaged with her when they are together, bringing lots of fun and energy while also maintaining boundaries. I would highly recommend.”
Hi, my name is Jasmin, but you can also call me Jazzy! I’m a childcare provider with 7+ years of experience caring for children from infants to toddlers to school-aged kids. I’m currently looking for occasional for work to supplement my schedule as a Yoga Instructor/ Sound Journey Facilitator. As a Burlingame native, I know the local schools, parks, and community well, which makes after-school routines and outings easy and familiar. I’m also intermediate in Spanish and enjoy incorporating the language into play and learning when it benefits the kids. I believe a positive mindset is key in approaching any situation, and I bring creativity, patience, and reliability to every family I work with. I love spending time outdoors with kids—whether it’s playing tag, going for walks, or heading to their favorite park—and I also enjoy guiding them through fun, expressive activities like arts and crafts. I know how to keep things energetic and playful, but also when it’s time to wind down with reading, homework, or quiet time. I value building strong, trusting relationships with both children and parents and would be happy to provide references. I look forward to meeting your family!
“Jasmin is truly an exceptional babysitter and human. Very emotionally attuned to the needs of kids (and parents) and flexible to help with play dates and meal prep and other things that are part of our every day lives but outside of the usual purview of babysitting duties. I highly recommend her!”
I am dedicated and compassionate caregiver with a deep love for working with children.Though I don't have children of my own, I speak Spanish and I could teach them. In my free time, I enjoy dance, hike, and swimming. I have a great references of my ex jobs .
“Our family cannot say enough good things about Yami. She has been our nanny for the past six years and we hate to see her go! Our youngest is starting full-time preschool this fall so we no longer have a need for a full-time nanny. Yami has helped us raise all of our children since they were newborns. She is the kindest, gentlest, most cheerful nanny you could ask for. She is also extremely reliable, eager to help out around the house and very deferential to what parents want. We hope she can find an amazing next family to work with.”
