Hi! My name is Dominique, but I go by Doma. I've been around babies and children my whole life. I grew up with my mom running her own home day care and started babysitting at 15 years old for family friends. I'm the second oldest of six children with my two youngest siblings being 9 and 11 years old, so I’m comfortable with watching multiples, doing housework and managing the occasional (or day to day) chaos. I am flexible, empathetic, and overall just really value genuine connection with those I share space with. I’ve found it important for me to be able to really partner with parents and openly communicate about how I can best care for their child and how we can support each other in the process. I just graduated from school with my Doctorate in Occupational therapy and am looking for extra babysitting to help with paying off my student loans. I work in early childhood mental health and school-based OT. I got my undergraduate degree from Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon, with a major in Theater, emphasis in set construction. I also have a minor in Early Childhood Development. Before COVID I worked at Cal Shakespeare in Berkeley/Orinda. I have been working with children for the past 18 years as a date night sitter, a nanny, a childcare worker, and a preschool teacher. I have experience with all ages. I am CPR certified, and I recently just refreshed my certification. I love working with all types of children. I've been babysitting children since I was 14, when I started watching over family friends' children. When I was 15 I started working at Strawberry Canyon Explorer Camp where I worked for 8 years teaching children ages 4-10. At camp I worked with kids one on one as well as in large groups. I've also spent years volunteering in local elementary schools. I love teaching and hope to be an elementary school teacher in a few years. I've primarily worked with kids ages 4-7 but have experience with older as well. I love bringing them outside and teaching them sports, as well as helping them with that tough math problem.
