I’m looking for part-time and occasional babysitting opportunities to earn a little extra as I prepare for my wedding this March. Born and raised in Petaluma, I developed my passion for early childhood education at a young age. I began babysitting for friends and neighbors as a young teen and started working as a summer camp counselor at 14. While in college, I worked in an after-school program supporting children in grades K–5. For the past six years, I’ve been a dedicated Pre-K teacher, gaining extensive hands-on experience supporting children’s growth, learning, and social-emotional development. I am CPR and First Aid certified and have over 10 years of experience caring for children and families in my community. Hi I’m Jayla and I’m looking to help families out with watching their kids and or pets. I have two younger brothers that I still take care of— same with 3 of my grandmas dogs since two of them were mine as well. I’d like to use my ability to help others since I do have the experience. I currently have a lot of free time since I’m a part time college student so I want to use that time to put it towards providing care and fun. A bit about me: I am a preschool teacher at Good Shepherd Lutheran School in Novato, and have been working there for 4 years now. I work daily with children ages 2-4. I am graduating this spring with an AS degree in Child and Family Studies from Napa Valley College, and I am CPR and First Aid certified. Prior to teaching, I also have several years of experience babysitting children ages 0-10, including babysitting for individual families, and providing childcare for large groups of children at events. I love working with children and am fascinated by the process of their development! Their little minds are absolutely intriguing. I love to play and experiment alongside them, and my approach to discipline and teaching is very much based in authoritative parenting style (aka gentle parenting) and play-based learning.
