I grew up with 3 sisters and 2 brothers and we had dogs and cats. I played sports and first babysat at the age of 13. I love the beach and body surfing, I love to sing to the little ones and teach them songs, I like to have fun reading books, eating food, playing with just about anything (just a glass of ice water is entertainment for 30 minutes with a 15 month old-- yes, ice.. first it's solid and then magic-it disappears). I love to problem solve... or use the tool of distraction. And I do believe that "to every task that must be done there is an element of fun". I work part-time at the Ferry Building Book Passage and have been there for two and a half years, it's a great environment and I enjoy working with the public. There a lot of kids who come in on the weekends and I have fun getting to know them and what they like to read. I have been taking care of a year and a half boy for spurts this past year and it's been so much fun. We would go to the Main Library storytime for an outting and it was a real treasure. It is such a pleasure to work with kids, as they are so much in to the moment.
“Thank you so much for your help! Would definitely recommend Lorraine, she was wonderful.”
Hello families! ¡Hola, Familias! I am Paula (or Pau). I was born and raised in Colombia; I moved to the US in 2014 as an Au Pair (live-in nanny). I worked with two families in two different cities and have remained a nanny ever since. Some of the things I love are music, spending time outdoors, animals, hiking, dancing, swimming, and reading. My experience with kids began when I was 10. I come from a huge family, so I've been around kids my whole life. I am very energetic and creative so I like to come up with different activities age-convenient outside and inside the house, I have worked with kids of all ages including twins, newborns and toddlers; I love to spend time with kids, I like to play with them and teach them new things (like Spanish) and I think that security is the key to proper development for the kids so my primary goal is to make kids feel safe to play and learn and have fun of course! If you have any questions/or you don't see availability in my calendar, please feel free to message me. Hablo español porque soy de Colombia. Si tiene dudas, preguntas o peticiones, por favor no dude en enviarme un mensaje, con mucho gusto le atiendo. Thank you for your interest. ****SITTER POLICY*** - By scheduling a booking with me, you're acknowledging that you've read and will abide by this policy. -PAYMENT: Cash only, please. -AVAILABILITY: Occasional and temporary part-time care. Pet and house sitting. -RATES: My rates are the same whether the child is awake or asleep and the rate per hour depends on the amount of chores and responsibilities I’ll be in charge of. I charge double time for the following holidays: New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Valentine's Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Day after Christmas. CANCELATIONS: I understand that plans change. However, I do recommend a 48-hour notice so I can try to fulfill my calendar with a new booking. BOOKINGS: I charge for the full time I was booked for , regardless if I get dismissed earlier than expected because I plan my time and my budget around my bookings. So please, give me a 48h notice if you need to cancel. Also, if you plan on arriving later than expected, please let me know at least 1 hour before the booking is supposed to end. I'm usually flexible with late arrivals, but sometimes I have more than one booking on the same day, and your late arrival can negatively affect the rest of my day. Thanks for reading! :)
“Paula was great! Very calm and a natural caregiver. Our kids want to know when she's coming back....”
As a recent graduate of UCSC and moved back to the Bay Area. I am passionate about working with children and have a strong background in educational and caregiving settings. I hold a CPR certification and am eager to continue learning and teaching. Growing up in a family of Montessori educators, I was deeply involved in the school my mother and sister worked at in Pacifica, volunteering and gaining hands-on experience. Over two years, I also worked with Mad Science of the Bay Area, leading after-school and summer programs for children ages 3-12. This experience included engaging activities and educational experiences to foster creativity and learning. Additionally, I have provided nanny care for multiple families, including caring for sets of twins and a family of four, where I was responsible for coordinating activities, preparing meals, and providing tutoring support. Since relocating from Santa Cruz County, I worked at Tara Redwood School as an assistant teacher, supporting children ages 2-9 in a variety of classroom settings. In addition, I have experience dog-sitting and house-sitting, providing a well-rounded skill set in both caregiving and home management. I am excited to continue applying my experience and nurturing qualities to help children grow and thrive.
“We've worked with Crystal for a while now and, while I'm behind getting her review in, I can now speak with experience that she is wonderful to work with and very good with our three kids. They look forward to her coming and we feel totally at ease leaving them in her care. We're very grateful for her kind demeanor and thoughtful caretaking!”
I am a creative, caring, VERY energetic, physically fit, patient mom of 3 grown-up boys and “Super-Mima” to MANY Urban Sitter children 🎉🎊🎈I major in ACTIVE PLAY with children, engaging them in fun games and educational activities appropriate to their ages.... babies and toddlers too with whom I have extensive experience. I am also an art instructor for the developmentally disabled at Cedars of Marin and have a lifetime of familiarity with special needs children. Art projects, creating block or Magna-Tile castles, and building forts are all-time favorites with me and the kids! Puppets and “stuffy birthday parties” are big hits with 2-5 year olds🥳. 6-8 year olds excel in riddles & jokes and balloon battling.🎈9-12 year olds love tricky brain teasers, 20 Questions, and art projects. I was born in San Francisco & grew up in San Rafael. I went to UCLA with Art & History majors. Besides three sons, I have one fabulous grand-daughter, Zoe age 11 that I cared for extensively as a “high-needs” infant, + Samuel, my 2 year old grandson 💝. I drive a 2017 Toyota Corolla and have a flexible schedule and am available for "date nights" and late nights or overnight if need be. Please read my outstanding reviews. Children especially enjoy me because I PLAY WITH them. I bring an assortment of great books because just about ALL children love being read stories. Please note I have a background in senior companionship care with excellent local references + a CA Dept of Social Services Care Provider Bureau background check with CLEARANCE besides my Urban Sitters background check. I am also CPR / First Aid Certified updated every 2 years
Hello, my name is Michelle. I am a mother of adult children and a proud grandmother of eight. I have been caring for children for many years, including helping raise my grandchildren from newborn through school age. My oldest grandchild is now 28, and my youngest is 9. I have experience caring for children of all ages, from newborns to school-aged kids. Most recently, I cared for a baby boy for a year until the family relocated. In February, I also helped a family by caring for their 3-year-old and assisting as a mother’s helper after they welcomed a newborn. In addition to childcare, I have experience with school drop-offs and pick-ups, and I am comfortable with flexible, changing schedules. I provide household support services during the evening hours. My responsibilities include folding laundry, meal preparation, cooking dinner, cleaning up after meals, loading and unloading the dishwasher, and vacuuming kitchen and dining areas. I worked with a family in San Francisco for over three years, both before and after COVID. During that time, I assisted with laundry, organizing kitchen cabinets, closets, and children's wardrobes, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and preparing vegetables and ingredients for the week. I am flexible and dependable, and I am happy to take on whatever household tasks are needed to help keep a home running smoothly and efficiently. I also provide pet care and dog sitting, as I truly love animals. I am reliable, nurturing, and experienced, and I would be happy to support your family. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. ⸻
“Michelle was very punctual and communicative! Thank you Michelle!”
