Hello! My name is Alexa, I am 20 years old and have spent many years taking care of family members children as well as my own sister while she was young. I have 4 years of teaching children how to swim under my belt and how to handle kids when they are dealing with more difficult emotions and was trained as a lifeguard to keep children safe. I work 8:30am-5pm Monday to Friday on weekdays however am free on weekends and after work! I spend most of my free time at the gym, baking, cooking, or sewing as I have my own machine and depending on what my weekends look like I take time to go out with my sister. I know how to do cpr on infants, toddlers, children, and adults should anything ever happen. If you have any questions please reach out and let me know.
My name is Dorisiya, and I have extensive experience working with and caring for children. I'm a music teacher and teach privately and in groups, and I'm also a part time nanny. I earned my Masters degree from Boston Conservatory and lived there for a while before moving to the Bay Area. Currently, I teach at the Maud Powell String Institute in Novato, CA and babysit part time. Previously, I was a part-time caregiver for Care.com and College Nannies/Sitters. I work with all ages. Additionally, I am a pet sitter and offer in-home visits or walks. I have 2 years of experience as a licensed cat sitter and am currently dog sitting through the Rover app. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns, and I'll be happy to answer those. I am taking assignments both in Marin County and San Francisco as I split my time there. Thanks! Sincerely, Dorisiya
“Dori was great - took care of our two cats while my family was out of the country. She went really above and beyond when one of our cats seemed to be be sick, even offering to go back to our place multiple times to check on her. Great communication. Really nice to find someone you can trust - would love to work with her again. ”
Hi! I’m a recent college graduate looking for occasional or consistent nannying opportunities that work with my current schedule. I grew up in Marin & I currently work with one family and am in a certificate program, so I’m not available full-time, but I do have solid availability. I was a preschool teacher in San Rafael for a year, have credits in child development, and several years of nanny experience with kids of all ages.
“We feel so blessed to have found Ava to help care for our son. She is kind, smart, responsible, and very reliable. Our son instantly warmed up to Ava, and that is not what always happens. He felt comfortable with her, and so did we almost immediately. She is very easy going and creates an overall calm atmosphere in our home. She finds creative ways to play with our son, she takes him to the park and let's him explore while always being there to guide him, she reads to him, she plays water games outside with him when it's warm, she builds little forts and play stations for him while he naps for him to wake up to, and she even walks our chihuahua for us while our son naps. She is never on her phone while caring for our son, ever. And she's just a nice person. We wish we had met Ava earlier, but we are so happy to have met her now. We couldn't ask for a better and more professional caregiver, and anyone would be lucky to get to work with her.”
Hi! I'm a recent high school graduate, attending community college in the fall. I'm looking for an occasional or part-time job doing something I enjoy-- and I love working with kids! If I find we are a good fit, I'm open to considering longer-term options. Experience & Qualifications: I have some babysitting experience with another local family who I babysat for occasionally throughout high school. Their kids were 4 and 7 at the start. I've also worked as a substitute classroom aid at the German Language School of the North Bay in Novato and mostly substituted in the kindergarten class which had kids ranging from 3 to 6 years old. If you'd like to know more about paid work and volunteer work I've done, I'd be happy to send you my resume or discuss this further. I'm happy to provide references as well. Just reach out! Note that I haven't had formal tutoring experience but would be comfortable assisting a child in learning all the teaching skills listed on my profile. I plan on becoming CPR/First Aid/AED certified for infants, children and adults this August! Background & Childcare Approach: I was educated in Waldorf schools from preschool to 12th grade. My childcare approach emphasizes being a nurturing emotional presence for children. I believe children don’t need to become someone. They already are someone. And I believe it’s my job to help that unfolding happen safely, while letting them grow into themselves. To gain skills to increase their safety in the world rather than hide from it. To learn to distinguish good risks to take from harmful or dangerous risks. I want to encourage them to play hard and I use kindness as a guiding principle in everything. I hope to help them build healthy confidence, knowing they are capable and can do hard things– and are able to ask for help. I value a healthy and age-appropriate transparency between child and adult, enough for children to know that adults aren’t perfect and we don’t expect them to be perfect either. I hope to teach them humility by example so that they too can learn to say “that wasn’t my best moment, and I know how to come back and repair.” I hope to bring these values into a warm family household that also shares them. Best, Sofia
Hello! My name is Jorgea andI'm an 18 year old student in college. I currently work for an afterschool program where I provide a safe environment for children ages 4-12, as well as assist in homework, create fun crafts, and engage in fun, tech-free activities. I love getting to watch each kid grow and help in guiding them to find the type of person they'd like to be! I also grew up looking after younger siblings and cousins since I was 14. I would be happy to help in driving to and from places. I am allergic to cats but am happy to help with families with dogs.
